Sony Issues PSN Q&A Restoration FAQ
Even though the PlayStation Network is back online, users still have plenty of questions.
And you'll likely find an answer at the PlayStation Blog, where many of the more common questions receive replies; one of the most important is an answer to, "So what exactly is working right now?"
"Sign-in for PlayStation Network and Qriocity (including the resetting of passwords), online gameplay for PS3 and PSP, playback of rental video content on PS3 (if within rental period), Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on PS3 (for current subscribers), access to services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and MLB.tv, “Friends” category on PS3 (including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc), in-game leaderboards, and PlayStation Home."
That's a handy list, isn't it? They also confirm that three update periods for the PlayStation Store were missed, and that means content like the MotorStorm: Apocalypse demo didn't make it. But all of that is coming and to help catch up, they'll be updating "multiple times per week" so everything gets back to normal ASAP. Also, Plus members shouldn't be affected too badly, as Sony will continue where they left off on the Plus content calendar.

How cool is this..... I went into Killzone 3's stats site to see how far back I am now compared to the rest of the world since my PS3 died in March......
and I was prompted to change my PSN password right from there.
As for the info you gave me for deactivating my 2 old PS3's, Thanks.
I was able to find both of them listed, but when I hit the "deactivate now" buttons for both, it told me that I have to deactivate them right from each individual PS3, which I can't do.
So I guess I'll just have to call Sony & see if they'll do it for me

Saint, now may be the best time to contact SONY on it. They may new a little more lenient considering three current conditions of the network. It's worth a shot. Good Luck!

Anyway, the other option I have found is to contact Sony customer Services - during the working day. It has to be normal working hours because apparently this particular team isn't 24/7. Anyway, apparently you call Sony and explain to the representative what your issue is. They will have to transfer you to the specific team that handles these requests. They can deactivate systems on your PSN account. You have to have the PSN ID, and the email address, and no doubt it will help to know the model of the dead system, and if you have it, the serial number.
Apparently Sony is not too keen to do the deactivation thing. Presumably it's because some people have used it as a way to share downloadable games...stupid pirates. Anyway, they *will* do it, you just have to persuade them.

I just called Sony today to see if they could deactivate my first 2 PS3's, but after going through the whole
Press 1, Press 2, etc, menu, they had a final recorded message that due to heavy traffic, nobody could take my call at this time, and to please try back later.
So I'm assuming that it will be this way for the next few days at least too.

That's a great thing to do. I've changed ISP since getting the PS3, and had already been through one change of password. In the end, I decided to use an email address based on my own domain name. That way, no matter what ISP I use, my email address will remain.
I'd definitely suggest that everyone update their email address on their PSN account to an address they have access to, and more than that I would update it to an ISP independent address that is available whether you use the same ISP or not.

Counting all of this along with the ID protection for a year, and Sony really is pushing the boat out for their customers - especially as there is still no indication that the PSN card database was taken.

Heck, I'd be happy with just one small game..."Flower".
Oh well, maybe they'll still add a few others.
EDIT: I just passed my brain-fart & realized I still need Quest for Booty.....never mind!

Great offer nonetheless.
p.s. Quest For Booty is EU only. In NA, we get SSHD (as I said earlier).
