Xperia Play Hits US On May 26 With Price Tag Of $200
Yeah, we know. For a while now, you've been going: "hey, where'd that PlayStation Phone go?"
Initially expected to launch in March or April in North America, Sony Ericsson has revealed that the Xperia Play will hit the U.S. on May 26 and sport a $200 price tag. Unsurprisingly, the cost "is contingent on the buyer purchasing a two-year voice and data plan from carrier Verizon," and will cost you another $30 - $40 per month. If you'd like, you can pre-order this nifty gadget at Verizon's online store.
In even better news, the phone/handheld gaming device will come preloaded with no less than 7 games:
- Madden NFL 11
- Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior
- Asphalt 6: Adrenaline
- The Sims 3
- Star Battalion
- Crash Bandicoot
- Tetris
A grand total of 50 titles will be available to download next week for the launch of the phone. As a reminder, the Xperia Play runs the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and "offers full access to more than 200,000 applications on the Android Market." Featuring a 4-inch multi-touch display, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera for video chat and self-portraits, this is a great option for those seeking a new phone.

This is a cool phone no doubt, but it's a bit bulky and the sliding mechanism seemed a bit flimsy to me.
I guess it all comes down to personal preference. If you're accustomed to carrying your PSP around anyway and you love phone gaming... it's a no brainer.

The specs on that phone obviously aren't as good as this and its not going to support the Playstation suite or whatever its called, but comparatively speaking its better for me to stick to where I'm at, although my current cheap $50 crap phone does need an upgrade.
Wish I didn't need a car so badly :(
