Modern Warfare 3 World Premiere: May 23 On ESPN

We know you're anxiously awaiting the official unveiling of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Admit it.

And although we were hoping to see that announcement within the next few hours, it seems it's a few days off. According to the MW3 Facebook page, the game's world premiere is set for May 23; it'll happen during "Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on ESPN." They just keep teasing us, but it's not like we're still in the dark; we've already seen video teasers, giant information leaks (some of which reluctantly pseudo-confirmed by Activision), and even the proposed release date (November 8). Besides, there's no question that Modern Warfare 3 will drop for the holiday season, and there's no doubt it'll be the biggest game of the year. It's a little unfortunate that we can predict that so easily but hey, the hardcore gamers know other titles exist.

At the very least, we'll be interested to see if MW3 can measure up to what we've seen of Battlefield 3 thus far.

I've responded to them lots before. If there's a legitimate comment besides just saying first, I usually just say something quick about the first thing mostly around people not really liking it here, (or possibly call it lame; that's something I would say, knowing me, lol), then I'd respond to the rest of your comment.

If all they write is first, I just downvote and go about my day. Someone else will explode and I'd rather not be a part of the convo. lol

If I'm honest, one of my first comments here ever was "FIRST!" way way back when I first subscribed to the site newsletter. I probably went a few years before participating in the comments after that. But I was caught up in what the internetz told me was cool. I didn't expect to get facewashed by the sweaty palms of internet junkies. lol.

In the end, though, I do like the atmosphere this site has, and although I felt shitty way back a bunch of years ago, I am glad now that kind of thing gets shut down quickly. Might be nice to do it differently, but I am glad it's frowned on. Those 20 downvotes should be enough to get the point across without too much messaging, I'm sure. :p

Also, LV's a good dude at heart. He just likely hasn't been laid in a couple days or something. :p I do value his input on numerous articles. He often provides an insight dissimilar to what I would see in something, which is good. We don't want all the regulars thinking the same way!

It definitely does, which dissapoints me. But if the game is any fun (compared now to MW and MW2 and BBC3 (yes i found MW2 fun, it got old, but i enjoyed it)) then i might just have to pick it up.
Not forgetting ofcourse, U3 should be completely awesome online too and i dont need MW3. But i like shooters and that addictive fun. So i might get it.
But maybe not, being an addict has its problems.

Well, if it's during game four, you know I'll see it since I'll be drinking a brew while watching San Jose lose their 4th straight!

I'm still undecided about MW3. I have a love/hate relationship with the games, and I hate the fact that despite the huge budget they should have, there are so so so many flaws in multiplayer. But having played MW and MW2, it'll be hard not to continue the SP campaign. It'll likely be at least a rental for me for the SP. I'll probably leave my multiplayer gaming to UC3 and the next AC.

Call of Duty's Multiplayer isn't as solid that people think, the Hit detection is pretty bad, and I always have a good connection when I play, the weirdest stuff happens in that game online.

There were a lot of dirty hands in the Sonics moving including but not limited to city/state "leadership", the disingenuous Howard Schultz (previous owner), and the crooked lying Clayton Bennett (current owner).

Well, the problem is we don't have a good enough arena, so until that gets resolved, no team will come here. Which is funny, because Key arena was just built 10 years ago, and David Stern called it "state of the art" back then. Now it is not good enough.
Truth be told it is not good enough, for a lot of reasons I won't get into.
I am hopeful of getting a new arena and getting a hockey team along with an NBA team.

Steve Ballmer (Microsoft Billionaire) offered to contribute 150 million if the state would contribute 150 million also, and these bozo's turned him down. In addition to his 150 million towards the arena, he would buy an NBA team for sale and bring them here. It was too good to be true, hense the government turned his offer down.

Yeah, I try to be thankful for what we have. I'm a Seahawk season ticket holder, but right now NFL is in doubt without a collective bargaining agreement.

The last NBA game I went to was when Ray Allen was with the Sonics, and he got into a fight with Keyon Dooling. They both went diving into the front seats. Anyways, I miss it, and I haven't watched any NBA basketball since they left. It is too frustrating. I watch college ball for my basketball fix now.

Anyways..... on subject, I can't lie mw3 has my attention. It looks damn good. It sounds damn good. It sounds like it'll be everything codblops wasn't. Codblops seriously put a dampper on the whole cod thing for me, but mw3 sounds like it'll bring it back. Unfortunately though, bf3 has more of my attention. Ill most likely be going with it rather than mw3.. but I may also have to get both. I guess ill wait and see. Only 2 games that I know 100% I get this year. And that's wkc2 and skyrim.

The same could be said of AC. The difference is that AC has a story worth following, a unique look and feel, is fun and most importantly isn't just another game in an increasingly oversaturated genre. I guess what I'm saying is that CoD would deserve this attention if it was a standout game, but it really isn't so...

MW3 has me in a minor decisive pickle. The current claims imply that MW3 may be nearly as decent as or better than COD4, but it's the very same overteasing and overhyping that implies that it's going to be as disappointing as MW2 was or more. The massive scale plot they have saved may be just terrible scriptwriting.
