L.A. Noire Becomes Fastest Selling New IP In The UK
It appears Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have another winner on their hands.
L.A. Noire has rocketed to number one on the UK sales charts, and it has the distinction of being that region's fastest-selling new intellectual property to date. Overall sales were almost the same as last year's Red Dead Redemption but technically, RDR is not a new IP, even if it was far more popular than its predecessor, Red Dead Revolver. L.A. Noire knocked last week's #1 - Brink - off the top spot; Splash Damage's shooter suffered a 48% decrease in sales. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean remains popular in the #2 slot and The Witcher 2 debuted this week in the top five. Oh, and the ever-present Call of Duty: Black Ops still managed to crack the top ten...because it's Black Ops.
We're happy to see L.A. Noire hitting the charts hard, and we look forward to seeing how American gamers responded to Team Bondi's gem.
