Team Bondi: The Ladies Seem To Like L.A. Noire, Too

L.A. Noire is a game that breaks boundaries, so don't be surprised if your wife or girlfriend finds it intriguing.

Team Bondi writer and director Brendan McNamara told CVG that detective work really appeals to the female brain in a variety of ways. Reading faces is something else the ladies might be drawn to, and McNamara says the game is often best played with two or three people in the room:

"We think it appeals to a really broad church, and one of the phenomenons [sic] we've seen a lot when we watch people play the game is that they'll play it, or their wife or their girlfriend will play it, and two or three people will play it together like they're watching TV. Three people can be entertained playing the same game and that's a bit of a phenomenon.

So far it's been very appealing to women too, which is great. I think women are pretty good at reading whether people are lying or not."

Well now, we're not about to dig ourselves a deep grave by going on about who's more likely to lie (men or women), or who is better at interpreting non-verbal signals. But the point is that L.A. Noire, due to its mentally-charged gameplay, doesn't restrict itself to hardcore gamers or those who only want to play GTA. Who doesn't want to be a successful detective?

just becuase they may like watching the game does not mean women are going out there and buying it for themselves. let's not get too carried away. i did ask the only girl gamer i know what she thought about la noire and she said it was a snoozefest, interesting coming from her becuase she liked heavy rain.

i have no doubt that some females might enjoy watching this game rather than a military shooter.

Clearly, you haven't met alot of female gamers. I have, and this game is getting quite a bit of attention....even moving them from COD and KZ to play for a bit. I for one will be picking it up and giving it a go as well.

I noticed this as well, it seems to elicit what I like to call "The Heavy Rain" effect. And let's face it, the game is very fashion-heavy.

style and fashion is a major component of the game, there was even a feature on it.

But even I can detect SOME sarcasm online ;)

Yep I've mentioned this very thing in most of my posts about LA Noire. Wy wife watched until the case where the Jewish guy started dropping all the F-bombs in his tirade. I get tired of that language too. I just kind of put up with it for the sake of a great game. R* is in love with profanity for some reason.

My 18y.o daughter watches me play and likes it a lot ,but even she commented that the nudity in a couple of scenes was more than a little gratuitous. shrug. You see it working in the field, but should everyone be exposed to it is the the question.

Great game though. I'm already making mental notes for my second playthrough! :)
