Greatest Hits Package To Include First Two Resistance Titles
We're big fans of the Resistance series but if you've never had the pleasure, there's a great option a-comin'...
As revealed by IGN, there's a special insert found in the Blu-Ray package of "Battle: Los Angeles." As some of you might already know, there's a Resistance 3 demo on that disc but this is different news: as the insert clearly shows, both Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will come bundled together in one fantastic Greatest Hits package. You can nab both excellent shooters for only $39.99 this summer and that's perfect timing; Resistance 3 is slated to drop on September 6. Oh, and by the way, that bundle also includes a cool R3 skin and "$10 worth of bonus content," so there's plenty of incentive. Although they're often in the background, we think the Resistance games are well worth playing.
The question is, can Resistance 3 compete with Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3...? We hope it can.

I just don't think these games compete very much with stuff like Battlefield and CoD because while there is a military presence they aren't military shooters. It's like trying to get a CoD lover to get into a sci fi FPS like Killzone 3, it is like getting a rich man into Heaven.

keys falling apart, and last night the stupid thing decided to turn itself off and when i turned it back on i got a ERROR A OS COULD NOT BE FOUND error.
O, not to mention everytime i put it to sleep it wakes itself up!
word of warning, NEVER buy a ASUS or toshiba laptop!
ive had acer, HP, dell, apple macs, alienware, lenovo and they have lasted 3+ years, most i still have now!
both Asus and toshiba though, by far the most expensive laptops ive ever bought at 3K each, and they cant last 6 months let alone 3 years!
hell, this laptop playing up on me now i took into toshiba a few weeks ago on overheating problems, a few weeks after repairs its broken again!
unbelievable!
one would assume if you spend 3K on a laptop it would last longer then the 1500-2000 laptops.
but one would assume wrong!

In my experience of collecting games(2,101 so far), there's usually no actual difference to the game itself, at all.
From what I've collected, I'd say that Sony picks a certain big seller game & then puts out the red Greatest Hits label once a title hits a XXX amount of sales & then sells it usually for around $29.99 to $39.99, mostly the latter.
That way they get continued sales on a game that's slowed down, & newbies to that game can still get to savor it on the cheap.
Then you've also got your black labeled Special Editions, & Limited Editions, Ultimate Editions etc too.
They usually either give you bonus material, or a second disc with extras(making of, extra content, commentary, soundtrack, concept art ETC), or even adding in a real art book, trinkets, or statues, etc.
BTW, the only thing I dislike about the Greatest Hits games, is the actual "red" label itself, because those 37 mis-matched red labels now clash with the other 500+ PS2 & PS3 "black" labeled games on my shelves every time I look at them.
(Yeah, I'm anal about that)

Btw, I must say that that bundle is an excellent idea from Sony. That and giving inFamous 1 away for free as part of the whole Welcome Back program have been some of the best marketing decisions they've made all of this gen.

I don't own either game, as the Resistance series hasn't really connected with me fully. I liked the first game well enough, felt it was a bit drawn out, but pretty awesome with a unique eerie vibe and some cool guns and cool looking Chimera for a first gen PS3 game, but R2 was decidedly a fairly big letdown for me in more ways than one.
