Rumor: Sony To Reveal Horde Of Exclusives At E3

The PlayStation 3 thrives on its superior exclusive library. Therefore, it would be no surprise to see a ton of new exclusive titles at E3.

We've heard from an inside source that Sony plans to reveal a whole lot of new exclusive games for the PS3 and NGP during this year's E3 press conference. Whatever they have planned will apparently take five hours and this source claims new "Only On PlayStation" software will steal the show.

And in addition to games that wouldn't exactly shock the audience (God of War IV, for instance), we should see new IPs and new exclusive agreements between Sony and various publishers/developers. We can't verify any of this right now so of course, it's all just rumor and speculation. However, we do get the distinct impression that we might get a sneak peek at Quantic Dream's new project, and Hideo Kojima may just show up to drop a bomb...or two.

We knew about Twisted Metal long before it was revealed. But for the record, we're less certain of this source, as the TM source was David Jaffe himself. ;)

I wish I could agree, but for some reason Sony is a hate magnet. I have no idea why but it is and it is ridiculous.

That being said, I am looking forward to hearing all their news this E3 and the possibility of a 5 hour event is actually really exciting to me.

That's the truth Highlander. Sony can do nothing right, and when something is actually wrong (IE- PSN issues) the media pounces on it.

There is a small part of me that wishes a little hack on XBox Live..

I understand how you feel. Believe me. But I think it's probably best not to wish for such things. If such a thing were to happen many more gamers would be inconvenienced as we have been. And if we label that as acceptable or desirable then that probably makes us no better than the hackers.

I know it may be hard but I think it would be good if we try to be better than that.

'Horde of Exclusives' -- Love it. =D

I'm hoping for a Heavy Rain successor, new GoW, MGS5, and maybe an announcement saying FFXIII-2 and Versus are both PS3 only.

I hope Sony does well at E3. Am probably most excited to see all the NGP stuff. =^.^=

ff13 and versus will definitely be ps3 exclusive, but in japan only. i hate how this generation the developers don't keep their words and change to multi half way through development. i have a bad feeling that Agent will follow LA Noire's footstep.

I really don't know about Versus. While we can certainly count Tetsuya Nomura as a ally his boss is one of the biggest tools in the video game industry. So it could go either way.

As for Agent, I don't think we need to worry about that. I get the feeling that Sony has some kind of agreement with Rockstar on that. And besides, I also think that Rockstar owes Sony some penance after they wrongly and prematurely blamed the latest PS3 firmware for LA Noire related issues, and at one of the worst possible times on top of that. Oh yeah, Rockstar definitely owes us something for that.

Good to hear, I think the PS3 really needs to tame this e3, if it suceeds it could anhilate the 360, which is now becoming weaker as time goes on. Some times I hope for:
FFXIII-2,Versus & Type-0.
News on MG : Rising
Resistance 3
Tekken 7 (With a more realistic physicis engine.)
for Silent Hill: Downpour to appear good.
Dead Space 3

Thats awesome. I'm guessing we'll see Quantic Dream's new project(s), Sly Cooper 4, and God of War 4. Outside of that, anything else will be gravy. Could care less about any exclusive agreements that Sony or Microsoft have with 3rd party publishers/developers. I'm way more interested in Sony's inhouse development projects. They tend to shine the brightest.

possibly maybe hopefully begging... in a second im going to start making up words to say how much i hope there is a Kingdom Hearts 3 reveal i mean at this point square enix knows they need it BAD. and a ff7 remake would be a good shocking surprise to get the crowds going although after the conference they'd announce it for that "other" system haha

I'd LOVE to see an announcement for a sequel or new ip for Heavy Rain, and an exclusive sequel to Heavenly Sword, preferably not by Ninja Theory after their colossal multiplatform failure called Enslaved. God of War IV would be awesome too!

Wow, you didn't like Enslaved? It's a great game with an exceptional story. The only problem I had with it was the autopilot platforming. But the story, voice acting, combat system, control, graphics and sound were top notch. I enjoyed it so much I achieved my 2nd platinum. I highly recommend it to anyone. I will definitely play through it again at some point.

Sony can have more then 5 hours if you ask me. Took off of work last year to watch E3 and had to sit through the horrific/boring Microsoft segment. It truly got entertaining when Sony got on stage..

I just want to see MGS5, GoW IV, and a ton of new IPs. As long as I don't see Kojima on the Microsoft platform looking uncomfortable again I'll be fine.

Now this I gotta see, I expect Sony to bring back some older franchise.
Since Sucker Punch is almost done with inFAMOUS 2 will we get a Sly 4 teaser?
Will we get a new Santa Monica game? The Last Guardian gameplay? New Ape Escape? Guerilla's next project?

And more importantly, will we see titles from 3rd party developers/publishers?

I love me my PS3 exclusives. Those high quality offerings make up the bulk of my PS3 library. Which isn't too shabby in size because a good many of those exclusives are excellent games worth owning.

I think it would be to Sony's advantage to continue to flex the strength of their in-house development muscles during E3. Especially so if MS puts up a lackluster lineup for E3 like they did last year with Black Ops and Reach taking center stage alone. (or did Gears 3 make a return showing? can't remember, but their lineup was weak sauce, no doubt)

It's just that. Exclusives, particularly the sleeper hits, have always earned my purchases and good faith in Sony...not just the tech, nor the price, nor the hardware reliability, although these things didn't hurt, either, and I'm sure had something to do with the quality of those games.

Of course, I always look forward to a pleasantly surprising multiplatform title, and they do happen, but it's always great to look forward to something, too, having certainty that Sony'll deliver in spades.

Man, here I thought with U3, inFamous 2, KZ3, GT5, R3, Starhawk, and The Last Guardian, and Sly 4, Sony had brought out all the big guns and nearly emptied there barrels this generation. And I still would've remained a satisfied customer. But dang, clearly we're in for a surprise.

No doubt, it should be exciting to see how Sony can recover from their recent disasters. Unfortunately I read only yesterday of continuing hacking attacks on Sony affiliated sites, such as Sony Thailand, Indonesia and Canada. One of the Sony music web portals was defaced as well, and Sony Music Thailand's site had 8000 user accounts hacked and exposed online. This was only yesterday...

Damn, it is coming from all sides. Anyway, Sony is a large corporation, it is resilient, I am sure they can try to make people forgive and forget by blasting out their best stuff at E3... it should be pretty spectacular...

It's been a learning lesson no doubt. We've learned it's just as much about PR as it is about security, as much about the media as it is about the hackers. Next time, besides heightening security measures, Sony'll have to find clever ways at dissuading hacking that doesn't draw as much media exposure.

wow, what a shock!
in other mind blowing news, the sky is blue, water is wet, and fire is hot!
i know, who would of known?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany way, back onto the matter at hand!
first hour apology for the PSN hack, and lies about what they have done, and will do to prevent it from happening again.
then 2 hours detailing the NGP, and some upcoming games.
1 hour talking about sales BS, upcoming features for PSN, and PR BS of why PSNs the best online market out there!
then the last hour finally the stuff we wanted, ps3 games!
50 bucks says at least 30 minutes of that will be dedicated to move games.
i can see M$ and sony making the same mistake they did last year!
focusing far too much on these stupid motion controllers, and disappointing there fans!
we want sequels to well known famous series, and innovative new IPs.
not this motion control molarky!
if i want these stupid motion controls ill go to ninty thank you very much!
thats why nothing can be popular these days, as soon as it is the crows sweep in and copy it to death!
