PSXE Poll Update: L.A. Noire Satisfies Many A Gamer
L.A. Noire is one of the best games of the year in our estimation.
And it appears that most PSXE readers agree. The majority actually said Team Bondi's gem exceeded their expectations, while many others said the game is great, but they knew it'd be pretty damn good going into this accomplished and innovative detective thriller. Featuring some of the best voice acting of the generation, a revolutionary style of technology where players read a character's face, and an ambitious, huge, highly detailed open-world setting, L.A. Noire is indeed worthy of all the acclaim it has received to date. It's not GTA and it's not Heavy Rain; it's an intriguing blend and one that deserves the hardcore gamer's attention.
There are several big releases scheduled for June, and we imagine a lot of our readers are anxiously anticipating inFamous 2. But what about the game that defined and redefined the term "vaporware?" The game we never truly thought would arrive? Really, after 13 years, how excited are you that Gearbox and 2K will finally deliver Duke Nukem Forever?

The Store ought to be back by Tuesday (if they can hit that notional date), in which case there is a solid week before inFamous 2 is supposed to drop. If they time a nice marketing push for the two weeks following release of inFamous2 that ties into the availability of the first game, I still think it would help - especially if inFamous downloaded from PSN comes with a code for an exclusive inFamous 2 demo or some other extra.

LA Noire to me is excellent. A different experience I have a soft spot for because you get to play as a Detective, kinda like in Heavy Rain.
And again World, this sucks man! Whats up with the store? I have like 3 DLC codes from LA Noire to redeem!

Duke will still be a caricature of 80's action heros, cops will still be pigs (literally) and the ladies will just be... well better.

As for Dukey, I'd love to play it... Such rich history, but it must fall by the wayside. There are too many more appealing games coming out, and far, far too many on my backlog that I haven't even started.
Peace.

but for a aussie developer who has never made a game before its pretty dam impressive!
i just hope LA Noire 2 gets sent to R* north or SD, or someone with allot of experience.
LA Noire could of been so much better, i think the inexperience of the developers really hurt it.
i just get the feeling if a more experienced developer done it, it would of turned out allot better.
great game, but like most games, could of been so much better!

instead of doing LA Noire they should of done a smaller more simple title to get some experience, then build up to it.
the whole game feels like they were either a holding back to appeal to the casual market, or b making rookie mistakes.
dont want to go into any detail for obvious reasons but allot of things happen and you think WTF did they just do that, it totally destroyed the moment!
once you finish the game you will know what i mean.

Now I have to say I'm pretty excited for Duke Nukem's return. I believe it will be glorious. I want to get the Balls of Steel special edition, but after the more important pre-order of the Hero edition of Infamous 2 I can't exactly afford it. Plus I need to take my buddy out to the strip club for a little bachelor party before he gets married on Father's day. So money is something I'm kind of low on.

If you've read my earlier comments I have said that I would wait on Duke, but now after all the footage and nostalgia and thinking about how FPS games used to be (hard-charging, badass, lone wolf, action hero attacks), hell yeah I'm excited for the Duke. Got my pre-order in and I'm even going for multiplayer just like I did 13 years ago.
Iron sights are for pu**ies.
