Sony Releases Two New Uncharted 3 Gameplay Trailers

Yeah, we know a lot of you are on the fence regarding Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

I mean, how can we be sure it'll be good? We're all skeptical. We're all wondering if Naughty Dog has what it takes. We're all thinking the fall competition is just too stiff. ...if you're thinking any of that, you're out of your freakin' mind.

Anyway, two new trailers released by Sony today further solidify Uncharted 3 as the front-runner for Game of the Year. Check 'em out.

From what we see, there's a damn good reason to keep playing when the single-player campaign is over. Naughty Dog has repeatedly said that they're focusing on making the multiplayer aspect as good as humanly possible, and we have all the faith in the world. All of it will be amazing.

Completely out of topic but, this is too sad :( Kojima has sold out to MS! I just watched the Konami's pre E3 video and it just killed me, it was going so well and then, he talked about going multiplat and actually picked the X360 controller to demo his new game engine, Fox Engine, instead of the PS3 one :( I guess MS's $ can't be ignored :(

Kevinater: I got them both, but I am one of those rare species who actually was not all that impressed by them. Visually stunning of course, but for me it stopped there. Way too linear and uninteresting puzzles (figuring out "what stone to step on next" kind of solutions will never cut it for me) made me stop playing quite early in the games.

Speaking of PS3-exclusives I am *way* more excited about inFamous than I ever has been with Uncharted.
Don't worry about it though, I know I am alone with these views so it's just me. :)

Regarding Indiana Jones, they are ok but I consider them to be just standard mainstream Hollywood products, easy entertainment for the masses. Nothing special, something you just "have to see" when it's out due to pure hype. Much the same way I consider Uncharted to be, to be honest. Nice wrapping but that's all.

But you are on to something. I don't think I'd bother to read an Indiana Jones *book*, to put it that way. On the other hand, I did read "The Da Vinci Code", so who knows...

No, you're definitely not alone. I even would have enjoyed the Uncharted platforming more if was all a cinematic (just watch because it's so linear it doesn't feel like my input matters).

I don't get it, I just really don't. Yea sure it's linear..but it's not completly linear. You can still approach any battle in a number of ways, be it take a few guys out with stealth that could be a hassle (E.g a sniper), or sneak around, get a good position and stay there and smoke em.

And I love doing the platforming, it feels so perfected, especially in multiplayer when your running away from someone. I've done some pretty awesome things, like once I was playin with a friend who had just got uncharted, and we were in machinima mode. He picked up an ak and I was running away from him. I got to a wall, and he was shooting at me. So I climbed up it, then jumped backwards (off it), ran up to him and snapped his neck. Yea sure he was new to the game so It was easy, but It just goes to show how the climbing is not linear. (I still got the cinema btw if anyone wants to see it :D).

I want the Collector's Special edition this time ND. No more silly competitions to win one of an extremely limited set. Make a run of special editions and collector's editions and sell them at a premium, it will make you more money, and satisfy the fans...please...OK? Please?

imo, more attention seems to be focused on mp rather than sp.

I don't think Uncharted will ever go the way of CoD. They are emphasizing the multiplayer, sure, but that's because Naughty Dog thought that's what they needed to improve from the previous game. They know that Uncharted would fail terribly if it's without the engaging single player mode, and they and Sony would not allow that to happen.

Do we know how long the single player campaign is? Has ND commented on it? I don't recall. U2 was longer than U1, and U2 had MP whereas U1 did not.

Question is, is U3 going to have an even longer SP than U2 did, or will it be shorter. That will tell you if they are perhaps skimping on the SP.

I agree with ZettaiSeigi. I seriously doubt that Uncharted will ever turn into Call of Duty. One of the things that makes Uncharted 2 a great game is that it does great with both it's single player AND multiplayer aspects. It doesn't favor one over the other. And I haven't seen, heard, or read anything that suggests that Uncharted 3 will be any different.

I'm not really a multiplayer person and I never have been. But even so I like the Uncharted 2 Co-Op missions. And these new Uncharted 3 Co-Op missions are looking to be just as good if not better.

On a rather unrelated topic, we can now download the free games from Sony's "Welcome Back" program. I have "Wipeout HD + Fury", "Dead Nation", and Killzone: Liberation" queued. Still deciding as to what other PSP game I'm going to get. How about you guys?

Btw, expect a lot of errors to happen when downloading. I'm sure the Store is being hammered right now with everyone trying to get their free games. Check the PlayStation Blog if you run into any problems downloading your games.

If anyone finds that they were unable to download one of their games and its no longer appearing on the store, go to Account management > Transaction Management > Services List > SCEA Promotions and you'll see it there instead.

P.S. If you'd like, you can probably get even more games by going on another account, hehehe...

Well, I do know that when your on the screen for the download, it states like many other downloads that you can download the content onto up to 5 PS3s. My friend lent me his codes and his account information to get some DLC, and it worked like a charm, and I don't think this situation is any different.

I will be on board day one for co-op multiplayer. One of my favorite parts from U2, until I ran through them so many times, that even on crushing I started to take them down pretty consistently.

Speaking of exclusives, I just have to go slightly off-topic cause I'm too excited: I just played the inFamous 2 demo and omfg it was *super* smooth! They've even fixed the slightly annoying "sticky" behaviour in the first game, plus it looks way better in every way possible.
I always knew I'd pick this one up, but inFamous 2 is gonna be better than I expected it to be!

I actually never liked the first inFamous demo. That made me *not* buy it until it got really cheap.
But I loved the game once I got it, although it was not without minor issues. The handling being my main concern, it felt as if you got stuck onto absolutely everything, making movement very staccato.

This demo was *excellent* though, it's the best demo I've tried on the ps3 so far. It shows off day/night visuals (very cool)), the powers and how they develop, progression of the missions, ingame humour and the open world freedom impressively well.

If you do not like this, well then you don't like the entire concept the game is built upon. That's fair enough of course.

oh, man. I'm so excited. I knew that I am going to get this day one since I knew it was in the making. But dang, I think MGS HD collection might have to seat on the shelf for a while until I get the SP done. And I love MGS so much, Maybe I will have to take breaks from all theses master pieces. Both coming in November. What a great month that will be.

Hm....looks ok. Maybe some SP footage will get the fingers tingling because right now, I'm pretty ho hum on the game. I hope that ND cuts back on the scripted sequences, make the game feel more organic, and not so linear.

They said they where making it less linear, but said it would never be anything close to free-roam. Which is great because I don't think a game has kept my attention quite like uncharted. BTW, do you mean the things like, the bridge collapsing in the sanctuary level? If so, there was only about 5 or so in total.

I love Uncharted as much as the next guy (probably more as it sounds like I've spent much more time playing U2 than most of you guys) but the taunt animations are TERRIBLE. How have they not fixed that? It's acceptable in a game like Dragon Age but Uncharted is all about awesome animations!

I really aren't digging the sprint mechanism, it looks too COD-ish, and the fact they've changed the granade launcher reticule to how it is in COD, it just further solidfies that. I think they might be messing with the formulae too much, because it just seems...abit off at the moment. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Mind you, I said the same about UC2 when multiplayer was first revealed. I thought 'wow, this doesn't look uncharted at all..' But then I played it and well, the rest is history (I am ND's number 1 fan, and I'll be damned if anyone says otherwise :P). But just to be sure, I'm gunna be hitting the feedback forumn for every single niggle I can find.

Hmm...to read or not to read the instructions. Seriously though blankey, its as easy as reading the instructions and pressing the button. When I was just starting Uncharted 1 that was the easiest thing to do, and that's saying something because I was still pretty noobish at it at that time. So when I see comments like these, it makes me think that you really suck at games, and that that's why you're always complaining about them.

Just sayin.
