Diablo III For PlayStation 3 Confirmed?
It's not a confirmation but why the heck do they need a "PlayStation 3 Specialist" if...? You get where I'm going with this.
There have been a lot of rumors that Blizzard would bring the long-awaited Diablo III to consoles and now, there's a very strong indication that it'll happen. There's a job listing at the studio's job portal; it's for a Senior Software Engineer with prior knowledge of Sony's machine. Part of the description reads: "...responsible for overseeing PlayStation 3 (PS3) architecture design, as well as other PS3-specific game code development to maximize platform performance." Well, that's self-explanatory. Last year, Blizzard was looking for a lead designer for "consoles" so it seems clear as crystal: Diablo III will be coming to consoles, or at least the PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, the game still appears to be a ways off.
And at the rate this project is going, we don't expect fresh news any time soon. But who knows?

Publishes should at least give players this option on all titles... FPS's would become that much better on consoles...

i remember the original diablo on ps it was good but didn't fit the style they had on pc, plus mainly is being played and more successful on pc. they cant change it to much cause than its not diablo at all. most of the changes from what ive seen and read is the overall look/design of diablo and feats like your helper can finally wear all parts of armor and wear amulets and rings.
so it could be for different game, but who knows cause i know the ps3 you can have a keyboard and mouse plug into it but its mainly for internet that i know of.

i honestly cant see it coming to consoles, genre just does not suit consoles.
plus most console players are too impatient to appreciate dungeon crawlers like this, and the witcher 2.
speaking of the latter i really want to get it, played a few moments of it at a friends house and really enjoyed it.
plus it looks STUNNING!
so good in fact it makes crysis 2 look like a freaking sega megadrive game!

"It's good for people that don't have gaming PCs."
The only reason why developers are bringing their games to consoles stem from the fear of piracy, however deep down I really doubt many PC developers are passionate about bringing PC-centric games to console given the fact that:
1)the current consoles have hampered them taking advantage of the lastest PC technology
2)piracy is starting to become more and more rampant on console e.g. the PS3 and PSN hacking.
In the end I predict in the near future you're going see many PC-centeric developers(like crytek) begin rethink their committment to the consoles given great leap forward of PC gaming technology that have been taking place

That has already started happening this year. Capcom has started making that shift as has DICE as they have stated that the consoles are holding PC game development back. And within the last month Ubisoft has stated that they will begin using the PC as the lead development platform again as well.

While this is all true, what I am really trying to say is that we'll once again see an era of PC-only games and simpily because PC developer are growing wary of being held down by outdated technology.
