Giveaway: Follow E3 At PSXE, Win A Special Prize Package
E3 is upon us and you know, we've realized that times have changed.
The hardcore gamers can be all over E3 even without attending. The major conferences can be seen in real time at multiple locations (and on either the PC or your TV), and these days, most of the fans are aware of the big news before any source posts up a headline. Communities explode with all sorts of discussions and arguments and in general, it's just loads of fun. So we figured we'd give everyone the chance to talk about everything E3-related here at PSXE.
Why here? Because no other site will offer the following prize package:
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
- Alice 2: Madness Returns
- A special mystery item
For that third prize, I'll give the winner an option of several things; one of which is bound to appeal to you. That lucky person will be chosen based on their overall PSXE participation during the course of this week:
We want you all over the damn place; we want you chatting about the latest E3 news in our forums, we want you interacting with our members in the comments, we want you following us on Twitter, we want you checking out our YouTube Channel and you know, it couldn't hurt if you're signed up to receive our newsletter, which goes out twice a week. You can also participate in other ways; i.e., writing up user reviews, sending over some cool wallpapers, etc.
In short, we believe E3 is for the gamers, not for the journalists. This is a great week for the industry and we should all revel in it. And because PSXE may be ready to expand a bit in the coming weeks, we'd like to invite all those PlayStation and Sony fans to our E3 party. Come on in, check us out, read the up-to-date headlines, and above all else, become a member of our community.
But don't forget about the simple rules for this contest-
You must be a U.S. resident.
You must be 18 years of age or older.
That's it. Get ready!

I'm not saying I don't believe you, but why is there a difference between a web magazine in the us and a web shop or family relative? Sounds incredibly bureaucratic!
Oh well, I'm just being grumpy for not being able to attend. :)

In Canada, for example, we can't genuinely win anything free without "earning" it. If I were to win, the law would require me to do something to earn it... like a skill-testing question. (Usually simple arithmetic) I guess you could argue that in Canada, nothing is free as everything must be earned.
If Ben were to open this to everyone, he'd have to abide by contest rules for every country, which I'm pretty sure you cannot do unless you have a company rep in each country that participates. I can think of many more examples besides this site that keep contests strictly within their own country.
The only other option would be for Ben to start an international corporation and make this site owned by that corporation. Then he could conduct contests for everyone, but even then he'd still have to abide by each country's rules.
It is quite a bit more complex than it appears.
Some country's would be easy to do it for, like Canada, as US and Canada have fairly cheap shipping options, similar laws, and open trade-ways. But you can't just pick a small handful of easy-to-serve countries either. (I'm willing to bet Canada is the only affordable place for the US to ship to) It's easier all around to just make an easy-to-run contest and keep it local.
It sucks, but I understand why Ben does it the way he does.

Agree with everything you said though Ben. E3 is totally for the gamers, especially since every gaming website out there will be streaming or blogging everything going on.
Feels like I'm in LA right now, waiting in line to jump in and check stuff out.

Here are some of my predictions for tonight's conference: Quick apology about the PSN outage, LOTS of info about NGP (offical name, dates, *hopefully* a price, complete launch line up, and next year's games), some things with Move- give me a reason to buy one, Sony!, The Last Guardian and Team Ico collection release dates (no more delays!) and lastly, I'm hoping for an announcement of some 2012 exclusives we haven't seen from or heard about (but heavily rumored) GoW 4, Sly 4, Syphon Filter 4, and hopefully David Cage's new IP.
