E3 2011: Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 Receive Dates
E3 2011 is heating up and EA has delivered a couple of very important release dates.First up is the hotly anticipated Battlefield 3, which is now slated to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 25, which means it gets the jump on its primary competition, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The latter launches on November 8. Fans can also nab the Battlefield 3 special edition, which features the Back to Karkand expansion, which is an add-on that boasts updated multiplayer maps from Battlefield 2. There's also a beta test, and that's scheduled to start in September; DICE says the beta will be "open" but we don't have full sign-up details just yet.
Then there's BioWare's Mass Effect 3, which has received a launch date of March 6, 2012. The Xbox 360 version of the game will let players give voice commands in combat through Kinect; one of the sweet new features revealed for the game. ME3 had initially been scheduled for a holiday 2011 release but was recently delayed. However, we figure that with the onslaught of titles slated for the fourth quarter this year, gamers will have plenty to tide them over until the third Mass Effect arrives next March.

I think I would pay for a headset or some other device that did that. I don't really care for many of the other kinect features/integration. However, that being said, the use of kinect with Ghost Recon during the weapon customization was quite impressive. But you then see how it fails completely when he takes it to the "test range".
Anyway, can't wait for 8 PM eastern!

Reason I ask is cause there was a game for the ps3 a while ago that had voice commands (I can't for the love of god remember it's name now) but that sucked big hairy balls, it could hardly recognize a single command unless I spoke v-e-r-y s-l-ow a-n-d c-l-e-a-r. Some commands were simply impossible to say, I had to use the menus for those commands.
If ME3 becomes anything like that then I'll march with a huge "NO THANKS!" banner over my head.

Oops...I thought you wrote PS2 not PS3. Was it an RTS? I seem to remember one with voice commands (EndWar, according to mindmurderer69).
I see no reason why these features wouldn't work with the PS Eye...aside from M$ $$$.

It's said that the Kinect interface does the voice recognition so the developers can easily integrate voice command without much extra work.
I saw the Ghost Recon Future Soldier demo with Kinect and thought it was the coolest thing shown for the device thus far. Search it up on YouTube. I still wonder how movement will work, unless the game is a rail shooter.
I'm curious to see what features they'll carry over to the PS3 with Move and the PS Eye.

I'm going to have to give Battlefield 3 a shot. I was really impressed with the gameplay trailer they released a couple months ago, but I don't know if I'll want to buy it right off the bat.

is really cool just calling out a character, and the attack requested instead of having to go into the games menu and select it.
future soldiers really the one making me want kinect though, i mean that video they showed was so freaking cool!
BF3 was real meh for me, cant believe im saying that!
have loved everything up to now, but this just bored me!
ME3 on the other hand.........

Ah well, makes sense. Two years later, spring season. I'll be getting thsi for the 360 however I won't slurge out money on a Kinect, even for Mass Effect. Shepard's voice is shmmexshy enough and I don't need to demoralise my team with my terrible vocals. Avoid gimmicky shit.
Quite sad how this is the only feature so far that has made me approve of the Kinect.
