E3 2011: The King Of Fighters XIII Blasts Into Holiday Season

Yes indeed, the legend returns.

Atlus has announced The King of Fighters XIII, which will feature "faster fights, over a half dozen game modes, a less restricting perspective, and more moves (including the all new NEOMAX supers)." More than 30 fighters will once again make their way to the colorful, chaotic ring; many of your favorites will be there, including Mai, Yuri, King, and Vice. The developers are also planning to offer a "rebuilt online mode," which will give players "vastly improved network functionality." But the best part? The latest entry in this long-running series will be available in North America for this year's holiday season. For fans of the genre, this is great news.

There was a time early in this generation when people thought the fighting genre was dead. Or if not dead, at least dying. ...but that doesn't seem to be the case, now does it?

I hope they do a better job with this one. XII looked great but next to Blazblu and all that it offered, I couldn't justify the purchase.

"More than 30 fighters." Meaning what, 31? Come on, guys, i love KoF, but the best games in the series have had massive rosters, and even Street Fighter(in its Arcade Edition format) is up to 39 now. One of SNK's distinct advantages over Capcom, in my humble opinion, is in character design, and there are too many great KoF characters to be ignored.

I can't wait to add this to my fighting game collection, this will be my first KOF game that I'll own, as the reviews for XII kept me away. This one seems much more deserving of a purchase.

this series getting boring and boring, will pass on for sure in an era that produces games like Dark Souls, Uncharted 3 and The Last Guardian....... nuff said
