Hitman: Absolution Devs Making "Some Bold Moves"
IO Interactive has a fancy new Glacier 2 engine and a whole lot of changes in store for the Hitman franchise.
Usually, when the hardcore fans hear “changes,” they begin to get suspicious. But with Hitman: Absolution, the developers say they definitely aren’t “playing it safe” and everyone involved “wants to make the best Hitman game they possibly can.” Game director Tore Blystad says that in fact, bold moves aren't only warranted, they're necessary.
"We’re taking bold moves with this one but it’s all for the sake of the game. Everyone on the team wants to make the best Hitman game they possibly can. Most people came to IO because they want to work on Hitman so it’s not like we want to destroy the franchise. We want to make something really cool."
At the same time, though, those aforementioned fans are still a little miffed at certain fresh features. If you’re a fan of the series and stealth games in general, what do you think of the slightly new direction seen in Absolution? And how’s about that sweet E3 CG trailer?

As long as they let you play both angles in the new game, I'm cool. I only played the first couple hitman games, but I loved that I could play however I wanted. Clever and sneaky assassin, or balls out trigger happy kill'em all assassin. Each approach was uniquely satisfying.

Personally, I'm looking to them taking the stiffness out of Agent 47(as with Sam Fisher). I know it's 'wrong' to go in guns blazing, but don't cripple those mechanics in case someone wants to.

If it is possible to go guns blazing through a level it more or less eliminates the reason to go stealth in the first place.
A good stealth game should give you the "omfg-if-they-hear-me-now-I'll-be-soooo-fucked" kind of thrills. That's what stealth is all about!

It's cool when you only need to show a glimpse of a red tie against white shirt and everyone knows who it is.
I only played one of the Hitman games, I believe it was the second, but that remain in my memory as one of the really good games from those years.
Loved to figure out a plan to solve the tasks.
One of the few games where repeated attempts were *not* annoying.
