Tomb Raider Trailer Makes A Very Strong Statement
The games that we all expected to make a big splash at E3 certainly did so. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception was undoubtedly the class of the show in our eyes.
But wait. There's something else brewing at Crystal Dynamics; it involves a young Lara Croft and a name we all remember from yesteryear: Tomb Raider. While we see no gameplay in this stunning trailer, we have to admit that it exudes slickness and technical achievement.
We're going to have to wait for gameplay footage before we allow ourselves to get super psyched but from what we see here, there's plenty of reason to be excited. We're not only liking the awesome presentation, but we're also drawn to the premise and concept. Usually, prequels are sort of contrived but this one really has plenty of potential.

This reboot has my attention for sure, so long as it gets rid of everything that's been wrong with the series for a long time.
But where are her collagen lip injections? Lara needs her big lips back.

Anyway, nice trailer. If the game tanks then Crystal Dynamics definitely has a shot at movie making.

The survival horror-esk style really appeals to me, and it should really bring the series to new levels of immersion. IMO they are two completely different games and am looked forward to Uncharted 3 more.

Another option would be to have her be able to throw/toss the torch and then pick it up again after the jump was made. Of course, this may slow down the gameplay some, so I understand there has to be a balance.

Any ways I'm really liking this game, It looks like it has nothing to do with tombs and raiding them so the name doesn't fit it but it still looks like it will be a great game.
Waiting for Gameplay.

was really impressed by the E3 demo, one of the VERY few games shown at E3 that actually looked really good!
out of the whole show, this ME3 and far cry 3 were the only games that lived up to expectations and or exceeded them.
especially this and ME3.
this i was not expecting much from, but it looks amazing!
ME3 i have always been expecting allot from, but seeing the E3 demos just made me want it all that much more!

But yeah, Far Cry 3 and the obvious GOTY 2012 are both my favorites too.
Laura Croft *looked* good but also looked very linear. Although even I can handle some linearity when the task is to guide a babe through danger. :)

ha! i think you and porkchop have been blasted for your critiques of uncharted in the past. i think uncharted is a good series, but like any game it has flaws. it's always been a little too linear to my liking. for a game with uncharted in its name it's kind of ironic it has zero exploration in it.
uh-oh it looks like i may have strayed into dangerous waters.
this trailer is pretty impressive. i'll keep an eye on this game.

only reason why we have not seen uncharted like graphics on the 360 yet is because devs have not been trying to, all the 360 exclusives have been running off tired old engines.
now developers are starting to create new engines were starting to see both shine!
i do like uncharted, only thing id like to see added to it is a proper non cliche story, take it away from the typical Hollywood Michael Bay flick.
and inject some history into it!
best part of infamous 2, it tries to continue the story of cole and the beast, but it also fills in gaps of what happened in the first game, and how events and characters in 2 know or effected you in the original.
makes it feel like a real universe, and not just 2 separate flies picked out of 2 separate garbage cans!
as for the new TR i like its linearity.
i think theres a reason for it too, the games no longer a TPS IGN actually put it perfectly its more like a survival horror game.
big bad men are after you, and your the poor helpless little girl!
i like this new take on the series, gives a real sense of occasion and drama.
that pretty much forces linearity.

if i had a nickle for everytime she used a green herb on me when i had like 99% of my health left...... well you get the idea.
she was always using the really strong guns like the shotgun on the weakest enemies, i always had to keep as little with her because she kept wasting ammo, health, whatever you gave her!
for a co-op game, or a mindless zombie shooter its a fun game but thats the problem its trying to be what its not.
RE is suppose to be a survival horror game, not a L4D wannabee!

I'm passing on this. Possible great game, not bashing. Purely subjectively passing on it. Don't like it when they "reboot" series. Just look at DMC.

But i'm not going to get too excited just yet as i thought Legend & Underworld were average TR games at best. But this is looking like something special.
Looking forward to seeing more gameplay on it.
