Killzone 3 DLC Hits PSN Next Week
If you've already got the Retro and Steel Rain map packs, you'll probably want to nab the From the Ashes pack next week.
The next add-on for Guerrilla's excellent shooter is due out on Tuesday; it debuts on the PlayStation Network on June 21 and it'll only cost you $4.99. Four total maps will be included: two for Warfare Mode and two for Warzone.
Players will explore everything from the Mobile Factory - new resource production facility - to the Lente Missile Base, which is actually situated at the edge of the Kaznan Jungle. Those are two of the maps; Guerrilla says the other two will be revealed "soon." Well, it'll have to be really soon as everyone's gonna know in only a few days. Also, if you're behind on the KZ3 DLC, you'll be able to grab all three packs (Retro, Steel Rain, From the Ashes) for only $10.
Shooters tend to thrive on extra content, likely because everyone loves more maps to explore and conquer. We kinda prefer more weapons, though. But that's just us.

I've already got the "Retro" pack that came with my Helghast Edition, but I'll be picking up the "Steel Rain" & "From The Ashes" packs in the near future.
And the only other one I just got to have is The Saboteur's "Midnight Show".
As for the vast majority of all the other DLC(and as Bender would say),it can all go.....

Ive got a line up of 4 3D modeling courses to take for my BS. I'm super stoked for them too. My first course starts in Sept.
In the meantime you can download a Maya learner edition for free from Alias and start doing tutorials.
I did one where I modeled and animated a solar system in my free time.
It's good stuff.

As for SP DLC...hmm...They might be able to do something. I'd have to run through the campaign again just to be sure but I personally would rather just see a Killzone 4 with a bit longer campaign and a better ending.
EDIT: I should also mention that when I said the "first game" I meant Killzone 2. Since it was the first on PS3. I never completed Killzone on PS2.

Like many films, filters and color muting is used to set the tone or vibe of a presentation. Critically acclaimed games like MGS and KZ have opted for such stylizations, even GTA3. It can be a powerful tool to invoke emotion without the viewer realizing it.
The tone of some games can fittingly complement bright high contrasting color.
KZ2 fittingly added grit by using the filmic presentation it chose, and I applaud them for that.

It's like in LBP2; (wacky theory incoming lol) when you play some uber epic looking level, you think 'right, that's it. Ama make that!'. You go into create mode, make your stuff and then your like..'So umn...when does it start to look uber epic??'. You play it and there's literally no atmosphere. Then you go back into create mode and change the lighting settings...
Have a spooky theme? Tone down the lighting, use external lights sparingly, etc. Have a nice happy level? Lot's of lights/different colours, etc. It's honestly scary how much of an impact a level has on you changes when you change the lighting..

Oh and I gotta ask about the art & design courses; how hard are they? :P
See I go to collage in one year and I'm taking design/IT courses (specifics of which I'm yet to decide- 3-D modelling sounds good to me atm). The thing is I just have NO idea what I'm going into, I've wanted to work in the gaming industry in some fasion since I was like 10, so I have the ambition, I just don't know if I have/will have the ability. ATM in school I'm genrally getting C's to B's, with the odd B-borderlinig A mark, not sure if that's good enough or not. Care to enlighten me?

Then again when the inFamous 2 DLC rolls around (not sure if there is actually going to be some but I have a very large hunch from their website still having a blank areas) I will most definitively buy that.

kz does not get a lot of sales for some reason despite being a stellar game in a popular genre. kz3's are actually lagging behind kz2's when you compare the amount of sales both games had during the same amount of time. interesting, becuase the ps3's install base is a lot higher now. could it be the review scores or is it the changes made in the controls?
the problem with the dlc is that so few seem to have them when you play online.

Exactly, I've run into this problem in other games. Or just the opposite.
In Warhawk I was getting dropped or not accepted in a large portion of games because I didn't have all of the many expansion packs... At the time that is. I know the complete DLC is like $5 right now.
