Sucker Punch Hiring For PlayStation 3 Exclusive Title
Whatever they're working on, we want to know what it is.
Job listings at developer Sucker Punch's website and Gamasutra have made it plain: the inFamous designers are starting work on a new project.
It's exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and the job listings ask applicants to "kick start [their] next big thing." Don't assume it's the recently revealed Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time; that's being handled by Secret Agent Clank developers Sanzaru Games. We'd like to believe Sucker Punch is already cranking on the third inFamous but that phrase "next big thing" sort of implies a new IP...doesn't it? We always like to see talented studios expand their visions and efforts, and provide gamers with something entirely new. These guys have proven themselves several times over already.
What would you like to see them try? Something similar to inFamous with that open-world style? Or how about a nice turn-based RPG? ...oh, shut up.

Sony was very smart offering Infamous up as free title, as they'll probably be getting another $60 or more (if there are anymore Infamous follow-ups) out of me that they wouldn't have gotten.

Oh and be sure to go " Back to the Bayou" (grey colored island way to the west of the map) to get that Trophy and confounded Dead Drop!... I spent like hours looking for the last drop and never thought to go back there.

I hope they're cranking on inFamous 3, but considering the quality of inFamous and Sly, I'd love to see a new game from them too.
Turn based RPG starring all the PS2/PS3s most beloved characters sounds like fun (a great idea cLoudou). Can we have two versions? one based on the more cartoony, family friendly characters, and one based on the more mature, more realistically rendered characters? Thanks awfully.

Maybe they can come up with an open world action game that puts GTA to shame.

You make me cry, Ben... It's funny how in this generation a lot of us went from agonizing over the FFVII remake to agonizing for just a good turn-based RPG... Hell, I was even considering buying a Wii just to get The Last Story, and then I found out It was an Action-RPG...
Well, here's hoping for Persona 5... If Atlus goes the action route with this, then I will have no hope left

sob*, the odds are it will when you look at all the other turn-based franchises...but P3 and P4 are so dear to me. I'd rather they just stopped making persona games if they didn't want anymore turn-based. However That ds smt was old school turn based and they're even re-releasing it for 3DS. So mayber they're keeping their style...

Anyway, I love inFamous, and more so the second. I'm reasonably certain that they're the first games that I've said, "Alright, I'm going to play for an hour, then turn it off and read for a bit before bed." Then bam! Next thing I know I've been playing for three hours and I'm like, "Well... Gonna be hard to get up for work tomorrow." That being said, I'm also a great advocate for originality, and while I'm sure that whatever they're working on would follow the archetype of what they've done before with Sly and inFamous, I'm glad that they're doing it rather than dragging it out. Both endings of iF2 are remarkable, giving a real sense of satisfaction, but I'm not sure that I'd enjoy seeing them take either route, despite what would be possible.
I suppose all that I have to say is: PS3 FTW! We may just have the PS3 swansong here.
Peace.

I vote for the good ole Philip K Dick, like every second Hollywood sci-fi! Although his books are very "movie'ish", not sure if his work is that adaptable to games.
No, let's go for one of the modern day authors, Neal Asher should be suitable with his extremely graphical sci-fi, perfect to create a game scenery.
Yes. My vote goes to Asher.

I mean, so that that even though both games are entirely separate and played as stand-alone games, they could also then be played again as cross-overs with one another if you desired to do so, intertwining in & out with each others game.
Just think of all the possibilities for numerous storyline branches & endings.
(Of course I don't have 1 tech savvy bone in my body, so I don't know how feasible my whole idea is)

the powers feel totally different from the original, even totally different to when i played it at the launch party.
there so much weaker then what they were in the original, for example in the original you could throw a grenade into a group of 4 enemies and every one of them would go flying and be killed.
in the sequel they only fall back and only 2 if your lucky die.
i hate how they changed the powers too, before you could have the cluster, the sticky, and the power all in one grenade.
now you have to choose which you want.
every single upgrade in infamous felt exactly like that, a upgrade.
the upgrades in infamous 2 though were quite the opposite, i always found myself switching back to the first unlocked upgrades instead of using later ones.
the whole point of infamous 2 was to make you more powerful so you could defeat the beast.
so why did they make you feel like you were less powerful?
especially the storm, you unlocked that and had like 15 missions left in the original, so you got good use out of it.
infamous 2 you unlock it, and only get like 2 levels to use it.
infamous 2 REALLY needs a new game + feature!
the karma systems pretty crap!
one thing they kept going on about at the launch party was they wanted to make choices more impact in 2, they wanted to force you to make hard decisions that you would care about, that would change the game.
but they dont, it really does not change much.
stealing a shard from someone, or not..... yea there really hard decisions that will haunt you for the rest of your life!
all it changes is how the game ends, and how its achieved.
all the levels are the same, for example the first karma choice level nix goes to blow the place up, and you save the day to trick the resistance, or you go with kuo to rescue them.
pretty much what your doing is the same!
only thing karma changes is your powers and the ending, thats about it!
its not like AP, or ME, or so many other games where choices drastically change the game, drastically change how people see you.
like kuo says cole you choose nix and ill have to hunt you down.
so you choose nix, and the next mission kuo is best friends with you again!
WTF?
the story was CRAP!
the story in the original had so many twists, and was such a uprising satisfying ending.
the sequel though was exactly the opposite!
talk about 2 sides of the same coin!
seriously buggy, even worse then the original.
funniest one was i leaped off a building and slammed into the ground and got stuck in it then died a few seconds later.
another i was running away from bertrand and he blew a car up next to me, landed on top of me and i was wearing it like a giant necklace got stuck on me then again a few seconds later i died.
boss battles were really boring compared to the original, the original had the best boss battles of any game this gen!
the sequel again the exact opposite, the worst boss battles of most games this gen!
the camera and controls really need some work, allot of the time you jump use your static thrusters and the camera swings up.
like, hello...... it might help if i can see where im going!!!!!
controls are not much better, if i had a nickle for everytime i wanted to jump on top of something so i push up and x and instead of jumping up cole jumps out id be a multibillionaire by now!
the ONLY bit of infamous 2 thats better then infamous 1 is the graphics, & scale, thats about it!
sigh, another game suffers of GOW 3 syndrome.
so much times spent on graphics and scale gameplay gets the crumbs.
i actually played through infamous again today just to compare the two, and im enjoying infamous 1000 times more then i did infamous 2!
and ive finished the original 18 times now by my count!

The reason you can change your powers b/c they can be used in different circumstances. Who would really go back to the Alpha Bolt once they acquire the Sychthe Bolt?
The point of inFamous 2 wasn't just to make you more powerful..it was to..iono..continue the story. If you even noticed Cole becomes powerful along the way. You simply crying about only using the lighting strike in 2 mission but that is the WHOLE PURPOSE of UGC.
The new feature you're looking for IS UGC. That's what gives it replay value. The Karma System is not crap and it's the exact same as the first one. So how can you like one but not the other makes no sense. You had to make several decisions that effected the outcome of the game but guess you don't realize that.
To sum it up...you simply don't know how to play the game..There's not a person who loved the first one that isn't enjoying the second right now

so the friend i brang with me to the launch party, and the other 2 guys who won have magically disappears off the face of the earth?
cool!
also, UCG is cool but what about those who dont have internet access?
yea the powers are exactly the same, there not less powerful.
so why when i throw a alpha grenade into a crowd in the original everyone dies, and in the sequel only 2 die?
just magic?
my lord, never have i seen someone in such denial!

inFamous 2
