If Heavenly Sword 2 Exists, It's Time To Tell Everyone
Ninja Theory didn't want to do it. They said the first game "didn't make enough money," which, at 1.5 million copies sold, is a tough pill to swallow. Supposedly, though, the sequel is in the works at an unknown studio.
So...what's up? Where is it? If the project does exist, the developer in question should probably speak up and build some hype. They have to know that Heavenly Sword generated plenty of fans, and those same fans have been hoping for a sequel since 2007. It wasn't a perfect action title but it laid the groundwork for a fantastic franchise and to this day, I maintain it boasted the best lip-syncing I've ever seen; i.e., the spoken words actually lining up with the mouth movement. It also featured great acting in general, a lot of beautiful visuals, a solid story, and a reliable, entertaining action mechanic.
The bottom line is that people do want Heavenly Sword 2. It isn't a first-person shooter; the competition would only be significantly stiff if it came out alongside a new God of War (or perhaps the Devil May Cry reboot). The only thing that worries me is that if a new development team is in charge, how will they approach this sequel? We assume they won't have access to Ninja Theory's same resources so HS2 will undoubtedly look and feel a little different...and that might prove tragic. Even so, we just gotta know: is there a sequel in the works somewhere or not? Tell us!

I hope the hype machine kicks into overdrive soon! They really had some great ideas when they made HS! One of my favorite parts was the scale. I also enjoyed shooting the controllable Arrows. If HS2 exists then I am for sure going to play through HS again.

But if your focus is on impressive visuals and can handle the linearity and quite average game that hides underneath the gorgeous display then I'd say get it.

Unfortunately, at the time i was a fool and traded the game in. I bet if i tried the game now i could easily beat what part i was stuck on and finish the game...

So yeah, if Heavenly Sword 2 is in the works, I think it's high time for the Sony and the developer working on it to actually start talking about it.
And btw, if the game is indeed in the works, please please please... retain Anna Torv as the voice actress for Nariko! I'm obviously a huge fan of Fringe. LOL

Edit: I took a look at the site and I realized Play is a European store. I'd probably check eBay or Amazon first if I could find a R1 copy there. But I'd buy it from Play if I can't. Silly I know, but that's what happens when you're OC. Hahaha!

No, but it's a webshop ("there are no borders on the web" :)) and they deliver more or less all over the world at no extra charge (the price on the product is all you pay). Or is it the delivery time you are worried about?

Yeah, it's the transit that is kind of a pain. I bought a CD last month from England but I am still yet to receive it. Perhaps it's because of the inclement weather that we had for the past few days, but I don't think it took that long for a CD to ever get to my doorstep over here. That and the fact it's not R1. Just kidding! LOL

i hope so, if theres 1 new IP that deserves a sequel its this.
only game ive ever played that has a combat system anywhere near as good as ninja gaiden!
not your typical button masher like GOW and so many other action adventure games.
come on, if this does not deserve a sequel nothing does!

The combat was ok with the three stances you could use, but as far as weapon variety goes Ninja Gaiden & God of War rips this game a brand spanking new A-hole. I liked how in Ninja Gaiden, the further you progressed you were given new weapons to upgrade, HS didn't have any of this, possibly because it was too short of a game.
Heavenly Sword looked good but it was what? 6 hours long? Way too short for a single player game with zero multiplayer imo. If there is another one i hope they put abit more meat into the campaign this time, otherwise it will remain a rental with a startingly pretty face like the first one, imo.
