Rumor: Limbo Headed To The PSN

Update: It has been confirmed that Limbo will hit the PSN in July. Yay!

Original Story:

Third-party exclusivity is going the way of the dodo, as yet another former exclusive may see a fresh debut on a new platform.

Limbo is one of the best downloadable titles on the Xbox Live service but according to Game Set Watch, the Korean Game Rating Board has listed Playdead's intriguing, innovative title for the PlayStation 3. This is a 2D platformer where the main character is a child who must work his way through a black-and-white world loaded with perils. There are puzzles and other obstacles involved, and the end result landed quite a few various awards. Now, take this with a grain of salt, but the German rating board leaked the fact that Braid would end up coming to the PlayStation Network, and the more digital gems available on the PSN, the better. We're certainly looking forward to Thatgamecompany's Journey later this year. Yeah, we're big fans of innovation.

And if Limbo shows up, too, that's just more good news. If you've already played it on the 360, would you recommend it to PS3 owners?

I did play an LBP level based off of the game that was absolutely amazing (probably the best user created level I played). So I might give it a look if it does come over to the dark side.

This is one of the few games on Xbox Live Arcade I would love to play and have missed out on. I would definetly buy it. Please bring it to PSN.

I wasn't speaking of you and BikerSaint. Just whoever may of thumbed me down for actually contributing important information to the subject while they were doing nothing all day except clicking little thumbs to make themselves feel better.

I would wait for a price drop. The game is too short. Got it when I had a 360 and felt kind of rip off.

One of the few Xbox games that is worth it in my opinion. The PC is most likely getting it as well since Steam has had a video of it since the beginning of the month.

This was one of the few games that made me jealous of our 360 brethren.

I played the demo and was planning to buy it for my Xbox 360 but my old 60 GB PS3 died and I had to sell the 360 to pay for a new 160 GB PS3. I would like to see it on PSN someday.

However, I am wary of over-hyped Xbox 360 timed exclusives. The paid off "journalists" love to over-hype any MS game, regardless of whether it's a retail or downloadable game. I finally play Braid and I wondered what's so awesome about it. It's very good but these "journalists" thought it was the greatest game ever made.

Totally agree - you play a 360 exclusive once it becomes multi-plat and it really highlights how many journos are ridiculously one-eyed when it comes to these things. The one 360 exclusive that actually did wow me when I played it was Mass Effect, but when I've got my hands on others, it's been "OK, this is good, but it's not as good as [insert multi-plat of PS3 exclusive here that's been ignored because reviewer is somewhat one-eyed]".

I played the demo on my friend's Xbox, and while he didn't like it, I found it really fun with a great style. I would love it to come to PS3. I'm kind of a sucker for platformers though, especially if they have cool/interesting mechanics, puzzle elements, great style, and fun gameplay (LBP, Braid, The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom, Super Meat Boy, and VVVVVV for example)

I played it on the 360; it was fantastic. I hope it makes its way over to the PSN, and I definitely recommend it! It combined a creative art direction with good puzzle-solving gameplay. It's up there with Flower and Braid as one of my favorite downloadable titles.

Sweet. Always good to see more creative titles, and no harm no foul as long as it eventually gets where it belongs :P

one of the best DL titles ever released!
that, super meat boy and shadow complex.
shadow complex is by far my favorite though, so much fun leaping across the 2D styled levels in the weapon experimental stages.
reminds me allot of the original bionic commando.

Played it on 360. It is an amazing game, but it's a shame it's very short.

The 3 best Live games are now on PSN, Braid, Castle Crashers and now Limbo. Only thing missing is Shadow Complex and Perfect Dark, but they're to remain 360 exclusive.

Nice to see PSN is getting Limbo and all the classic Sonic the Hedgehog games. Shame our 360 friends can't experience Final Fantasy VI - IX, but then again, I doubt those gun-loving nuts would appreciate those old-school RPG's.

Yes, this is a game for the collection. Both Journey and Limbo will be mine, as well as my other 3 triple A titles this year, Battlefield 3, Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3...
