20 Minutes Of Stunning Journey Gameplay Surfaces

In the world of digital downloadable games, there's no title we want more than Journey.

In development at Thatgamecompany (flOw, Flower), the latest desert-roaming adventure is not only innovative, but downright revolutionary in some ways. If you missed it, make sure to check out our in-depth preview in order to obtain some relevant details. After reading, check out no less than 20 minutes of gorgeous gameplay.

This is the kind of beautiful artistry that we expect from Jenova Chen and the rest of the team. There's just something so unique and compelling about the atmosphere in Journey, and it's well worth your attention. Perhaps the most original interactive entertainment can actually be found on the PSN...

Because we still know what you meant. I think the thumbs up mean "yes". Got a link for the beta (but haven't downloaded) for previously purchasing fl0w or flower or both.

As much as I want to make snide sarcastic comments about it being brown, I can't help but say instead how cool this one looks. I'll be playing this one for sure.

Damn this game...

I've been following this game A LOT on gamefly and g4, and it definately has me interested. Perhaps the part that has my interest the most is that the online portion ( don't know if its all online or not ) only ever has 2 people in a "room" at once. And your NEVER guarenteed to ruun across the other person. Its just a random chance encounter, and its just you and another random player. So ill definately be getting this when it hits the psn.

Oh, I said damn this game, cause I was just heading to the psn store to grab the psx classic grandia or parasite eve, but I'm gonna leave my money on there until this gem gets here. I don't care how long the wait it.

Oh, and to pandacastro, I tried to sign up at shacknews.com to try and get a beta code but damn shacknews wouldn't let me complete my registration.

But anyways, this game looks absolutely amazing.

Must have! This is not a game. It is an experience.

I hope Sony continues the relationship with TGC. Their creations just scream PlayStation 1st party exclusives so I'd rather Sony purchase them outright but as long as the keep these innovations coming I will be happy.

I think this will be my first downloadable title. I wish they do a retail release of flow flower and this game though. I don't like downloadable stuff and would rather have all 3 in a collection.

I love the way the sand moves, especially your own movement when sliding down a dune. It's amazing how free the gameplay feels - you seem to just explore, setting out toward whatever catches your eye. Not that there aren't objective, just the feeling.

Yeah this seem to be just as extraordinary as Flower was.
But the sound effects when the character get the floating things attached to it's costume(?)... Isn't that more or less exactly the sound from Flower when the flowers are "woken up"?

Well, not *only*... ;)

But I think games like these are incredibly important for the identity of a platform, especially now that platform exclusives more or less are turning into a thing of the past.
And I am so happy that Sony seem to appreciate independent releases like these. Makes me a happy & proud Sony owner!

Ok that post made absolutely no sense. When I said "platform exclusives" I meant the large exclusives, full priced retail games, as opposed to games on psn only.

Pretty, yes i'll give it that, but I can't help to think it looks boring, after 20 minutes of gameplay we did not really end up anywhere. Not much happened, I'll keep an eye on it. Is this game heading for blu-ray release or just PSN?

Can I just pay $60 for it? Please just take my money, you guys deserve it. This game is right there with Uncharted3 and The Last Guardian for me. Would gladly pay full price for it :)

Cool now we'll have even morn variety on the PSN.
Did the main character remind anyone else of the little sand dune monsters from FFXII?

Looks pretty dull to me, but I may pick it up at some point down the road. One of the few games, if not the only one, that let's you come close to playing a Jawa.

This game has had me on the hook since the first screenshot and overview of the premise.

There's something to be said in this day and age of fast-paced, twitch-based, us vs them gameplay that a title like this can be just the breath of fresh air needed to reinvigorate my love games and remind me why I started playing in the first place.

It saddens me that we don't have more games which de-emphasize combat and bring the simple joy and wonder of exploration to the forefront. Like all the wise men keep telling the youngfolk, "It's the journey, not the destination, that matters."

Can't wait for this.

P.S. I'm gonna go ahead and say that roughly half the headlines for the reviews on this game will read: "Don't Stop Believing!"

:)

I can't view any of the videos. An error message pops up saying the content is set to private. Not on my end. I registered for your website thinking that would fix it, but it did not.
