PSXE Show Episode #2 Draws A Substantial Crowd

We were very happy to see so many new and familiar faces during our get-together tonight; Episode #2 of our PSXE Show seems to have gone over very well.

For over two hours, we met and chatted with a great many people; some we already knew, some were fresh faces to the PSXE world. Our show was slotted second behind HipHopGamer, but everyone waited around to see it and we got great compliments and feedback. We've worked on making the show slicker and more refined, and there will be a more upbeat attitude for the third episode, too. And you know, it's clear that the knowledgeable and laid-back community attitude we're so accustomed to here at PSXE is great for Home; the regulars love to talk to each other and newcomers tend to get caught up in the conversation. Hopefully, that will result in a further expansion of our community. Don't worry, people know what we're about.

Episode #3 is tentatively slated for July 21 and yes, we'll be having our little party again when the new show debuts. People really seem to love it! Also, I'll announce the three winners of the Sumthing Digital inFamous 2 soundtrack giveaway this weekend. Remember, we might do a lot more giveaways in relation to our show...

Just dropping in on the way home from Home...great to see everyone. Great show Ben and Charles, looking forwards to Episode 3.

I didn't make it to the first showing because of the network errors on HOME, but I made it the second showing. Great job, Ben. Seen some familiar names like Highlander, Biker(but he was in another instance of a theater earlier in the night) and Jawknee.

I really didn't say to much but really enjoy all the conversation that was going on. Well definitely keep coming back for more.

Dammit I missed the party again. Got there in time to see jawk leave, and I saw you leave too ben. I said hola but you may not have noticed. Its cool though. I meet highlander.

And I'm watching the show right now. So I don't wanna miss anything so ill catch you all later.

Oh and I know its a different thread and all, but games id like to see from the psp remastered for the ps3 are dissidia, crisis core, birth by sleep and a few other one as well.

I like the little extra stuff at the end of the episode. Just you guys bs'ing. Good stuff haha.

I missed the wkc discussion, so was hoping you guys could fill me in.

I'm really hoping to still have internet for episode 3, so ill hopefully be at that psxe party.

We were chatting about the amount of time it took to grind all the way to Platinum in WKC, and talking about how WKC2 seems to improve on that with less time needed to grind guild ranks. PSX guild questing FTW!

Talking to everyone tonight made me realize how far I'm behind on my backlog. No more cod until I finish BG&E, plat both Uncharteds and get my hands on I2, P2 and LA Noire.

I know what most of you think about cod, but somehow my friends convince me to play search and destroy almost every night.

HMMM,
I must have a special parallel dimension of the Community Theater & it's lobby because I was in the show from 8:01 EST till after the PSXE show ended.

And I only saw about 4-5 people from PSXE such as WNDRTWN1, but not one of our usual suspects(the regulars) or Ben & his bro.

So before I make a call the ghost of Rod Sterling at The Twilight Zone, what the he-double-LL gives with that????
Or do I need to set my Deloren back to the future by a few extra clicks???

Home runs on instances so even though you were in the right place you were in a different instance. A new one forms when the current lobby gets to over populated. I really don't know enough about it to begin explaining it. Ask Highlander, he made it make sense for me.

Friend one or more of us and then when you are in home, if you see us in the theater already you can use the menus to check friends and then 'goto' a friend's location. That will drop you into the same instance as your friend.

I only found out about instances myself.

Biker, there's an easy way to tell if you're in a different instance...you won't see a crowd gathered in front of the screen. ;)

Once you're in the right theater, this week's show is queued up in the #2 slot right after the HipHopGamer. That show is perhaps 10 minutes, and then you're into PSX territory.

If you're in the US.....when you get into Home, scroll down to "Community Theater" & you're right there.

The first show you will see is the Hip-Hop Gamer Show which lasts about 20-30 minutes.

The PSXE Show runs right directly after that one. The show will keep running in a continual loop for the next few days at least, so you should have plenty on time to catch it.

Yip, I missed it too because my PS3 is bust... I have to find time to drop it off at the Sony service center. I don't know when that will be but probably mid July as I am busy traveling for work. Not the end of the world... until World says it is... but I will eventually get to it and say hello to everyone...

Gotta say one thing about the Sony service centers. In the US, tehre is no other way to go. If your PS3 goes south, and you can get your disc out of it, go with Sony, for $129 (or less) you get a refurb of the same morel (or a refurb slim) and the price includes shipping to and from Sony as well as the box and supplies they send you so you can package the system properly. I had gone with a third party previously, but assuming that Sony sends me a working refurb, I'll have to recommend their service over everyone on the basis of price if nothing else.

Yes, I would go for a Slim refurb... why not, but they would have to offer that to me. I was thinking of buying a new Slim, but I can't justify it right now... Would rather spend a little less and get this one fixed.

I have another PS3. It is my original Phat, but I can't go online as it is for Linux usage. I don't have my new PC yet, and may delay purchase until early next year as I want to wait a little more to get a really good state of the art laptop. Means Battlefield 3 on the PS3 this time around.

When I get my new laptop I will upgrade my Phat and move my Linux environment across to the laptop itself and have it as a dual boot :)

So my "live" PS3 needs to get fixed now, otherwise nothing I can do...

As much as it bums me that I haven't been able to join the fun because of errors (ask Fane about that), it's great to know that the second show was as successful (if not more so) as the first.

I sure hope that I won't be encountering all those errors on the 21st. I tried connecting for more than an hour but all I got was error messages. It was frustrating and was a colossal waste of time. I just shifted to playing the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta.

Anyway, congratulations PSXE!!

BTW, did anyone else who managed to be there tonight, or the previous premier, think that with the text based chatter going on, Home has almost become a more interactive IRC? It felt just like the IRC chats I used to participate in years back, an open free for all with people keeping two or three conversational threads going at once, and such. It was a nice blast from the past.

An associated side-note: the local chat channel seems to have a very limited radius with so many people present, so if you want to take part, you need to come to the front of the theater.

I found Jawknee and Underdog in the back, totally unaware that we were all there.

We could open a dedicated chat channel (voice, even), but I don't know how many people could connect.

You can create a chat channel I can't remember if there's even a limit on the text ones, but there's definitely a limit on the voice ones.

I don't know about the different chat channels, if we create a club one, I think we can still interact with everyone locally as well, but I haven't messed around much with that.

Now I feel bad. I got caught up in some BC2 with a couple of friends, and completely forgot all about this. It was only when I looked at the clock, and saw 10:00PM, that I remembered that I wanted to be there. I will have to slap a sticky note on my TV, reminding me to make it to the next one.

Seriously, anyone have a spare PS3 just laying around? I'll buy you a new game if you send the PS3 to me :D I'm getting so close to just saying screw it with gaming all together. No way could I ever catch up on backlogged titles... not to mention starting over from scratch with a new PSN account (still haven't gotten that straightened out) is not something I want to do.

I am pleased you are getting the chance to do this, as you deserve such attention for such a cracking website, though I will not be able to join unless there is a way for international players to attend, without creating a US PSN, which I might do soon anyway as I want some PSone classics...

Meh, it's a shame the Theatre in Home isn't cross-region like the E3 and World Cup spaces. In the EU Home theatre there's nothing but trailers. Never anything good happens there. :\
