Rumor: Blizzard "Pushing" To Launch Diablo III In November
If we were to rank this rumor on the probability scale, we'd be forced to put it on the low end.
Even so, considering the fact that we've been waiting for many, many years, we suppose the end might finally be in sight. According to an "inside source" as cited by GotGame, Diablo III might launch in November of this year. That's right, November 2011. Of course, the source says they're "pushing" to hit that release window, with Blizzard employees "working from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily to finish polishing content." We haven't the slightest idea what GotGame is talking about regarding Activision Blizzard's "common" secrecy ploy concerning new titles (that's a...bizarre observation), but we'll let that slide. The bottom line is that Diablo III might finally be on the fast track.
There's still no knowing whether or not the long-anticipated RPG will arrive for consoles as well as PC, but multiple pieces of evidence have suggested D3 will indeed arrive for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

All in all, Diablo and Blizzard in general probably has the most die-hard and loyal fans in the gaming community. Diablo III can be released tomorrow and it's projected sales will be met, the people who want this game, are going to get it and they will get it before MW3, BF3 or any game alike.
The facts are facts, if you love/played Diablo, or any Blizzard game, if it is going to be released, no matter what is being released at the same time, that is the game they are going to get. Expect to see sales similar to that of WoW, if not more.

Those other games pale in comparison. There are way more Diablo fans than cod fans out there even if alot stopped playing.. many of them are just waiting for something new.

Where games like MW need new releases every year or so, Diablo II has been around for 11 years and still sees regular new purchases and well over 300,000 regular on-line players globally. During it's peak, I remember seeing well over 2,000,000 players per region. US West, East, Asia, Europe, etc.
Blizzard/Activision are rolling in fat RL loots, no matter what they release, or when they release it.

I was a major fan of Warcraft 3 back in the day. A bud and I would compete online together in 2vs2 ranked matches. We did pretty good. It's amazing how much depth goes into their strategy games. I particularly like the "real time" component intermixed with the strategy, as the element of precision timing becomes a variable to consider while playing.
I remember playing with some friends who liked to only play against the computer. Their idea of strategy was to bunker down and build up a fortified base and mass tons of griffons, or some other tier 3 unit, but seeing that strategy vs a computer compared to human is nearly entirely different, their method would mean their death before they even produced their first tier 3 unit in player vs player matches. It's all about scouting the enemy and adapting your strategy to counter theirs. Becomes a tactical game of tug and way, observing that right instance were you take the advantage and majorly exploit a weakness to their army.
Anyway, just reminiscing about the good old days. The days where playing a game for the GAME play was what mattered the most to me.
I have major respect for the kind of quality work Blizzard has done. I'm not sure if there's a dev I respect more.

Blizzard is well known for telling you later, releasing earlier. Last years release announcement was incapable of predicting progress over a year of development, obviously things went very smooth for the development of the game, or Blizzard wouldn't allow anyone to make official announcements of Open Beta, Period.

They might be better off pushing it to December or early next year...
