inFamous 2 UGC Level Editor Guide: Fans Should Use It

There's a reason why game development is a challenging position.

It's nice to offer gamers an editing option and in inFamous 2, we can create our very own missions. When completed, our friends can check 'em out if they're logged on to the PlayStation Network; the user-generated missions show up as green exclamation points on your map. It's a nifty little addition.

But like I just said, it isn't easy to make a game. It isn't easy to create a great mission. And unfortunately, I've long since left off trying the UGC missions in the game because...well, because most of them suck. But it's understandable and something like this really needs a walkthrough or a guide. Hence, I turn you in the direction of Segment Next, which features a level editor guide and helpful video tutorials.

Before diving in, you might want to check this out. This way, you can be even more proud of your imaginative creation. ...and I might actually run to one of those green spots.

My problem is that I am currently involved in Dragon Age 2 (and loving it).

Once I am done with that, I'll go back to inFamous 2 and begin my evil play through.

I'll play more with the UGC then.

Yeah most of the UGC sucks. Including one of mine. Just avoid that UGC mission titled "ring race" by me. Don't believe me?
I'll save you the time. Hop on a rail, grind your way through a handful of hoops. All done.

Hey the creation thereof netted me a bronze.

See, that'd be the cure. Sucker Punch just needed to create a Gold Trophy that had a condition that made the player create a UGC with a 4-5 star rating.
That'd have stymied some quality.

That's not so terrible. I tried a few that are downright unplayable.

Yeah Ben, and for some reason too many people have a thing for seeing how many enemies they can load on the screen and throw at you in one time.

That sucks, I was really hoping to see some good levels. I've always been a very creative person and thought I would make these masterpieces when LBP came out, but ended up failing horribly.

I'm sure if I sat down and mastered it, I could make something decent. But since I already have limited time for gaming, I just couldn't spare the hours to figure out every little trick to making a level good.

We probably need to give Infamous a little more time. I'm sure there are some imaginative creators out there who are working on something good.

It took a little while before we had any really good user content in LBP. I had that game at launch and the first few weeks of content was pretty bleh... but as time went on they just got better and better, some downright amazing.

I've seen some with some promise, but I think this might be the way of the future. First though, remove the trophies from it. I want to platinum that game and doing these missions is annoying. While you're thinkin about that think about this.

I've been playing Mirrors Edge (finally) and was thinking it might make the perfect game to have one of these mission editors because people could make some extreme parkour chases and stuff, and the brief campaign wouldn't seem so bad. Before you know it there's a million levels out there like LBP.

Wow that editor sure was a lot more than I expected (I don't have the game yet). This actually looked pretty cool!

Why don't they have these in game, they have decent production values and they were made by Sucker-Punch!

The one I made was terrible, lol. I just wanted to get back playing the game. I believe that was the reason it was so bad. I'll give it a go again when I get back to i2.
