L.A. Noire Actor Likes The Idea Of A Movie Adaptation

Well, it's pretty damn close to a movie already, so why not?

L.A. Noire is an innovative title that features both a great storyline and fantastic characters, which is why it could make for an excellent film. And one of the game's actors, Adam Harrington, says he'd love to see such a project. Unsurprisingly, he'd also like to see his character - Roy Earle - play a role in the production; if the movie is accurate, he'd have to, right? Said Harrington:

"I certainly think LA Noire would work as a film adaptation, and of course, I would love to bring Earle to that environment too. I think it would make a great film, and I think Roy Earle is such a well-conceived character, he already seems like he was something that was taken from a film anyway. So I would love to see him brought to life in a film and I would love to play his role."

We now know that Rockstar plans to start up their own film company, although we're not sure of any titles they might produce. But we like the idea of a publisher having full control over films based on their own games...look out, Hollywood, if a lot of game companies start doing this (and the movies are actually good), you could be facing a large-scale takeover! Fair warning.

Oh, and I'd say something vile about Roy Earle but I don't want to give anything away if you haven't finished L.A. Noire. ;)

la noire is a movie nothing else.

Heavy Rain is better than a movie with choices that matter.

...yes, considering that L.A. Noire feels much more like an actual video game.

HAHA...stop stop stop. So because LA Noire doesn't have impactful "choices", Heavy Rain is a better "game". I played both games and I can easily say Heavy Rain is more emotional and engaging, but LA Noire is the better game even if it is repetitive and the story is better. This is my opinion of course.

@Ben

I think you missed the point of his post.

I will also point out the obvious and say that not every movie is with real humans as actors. There's also computerized movies. So what's to say L.A. Noire doesn't already feel like a movie, even though it's a video game?

Movie could be split for each desk, or into 3 parts.

Seven is great, yes indeed, but it's definitely noting like LA Noire. A Scanner Darkly is a great movie too, to put it that way. :)

It makes more sense than an Uncharted movie, but the game really didn't resonate enough to make me want to go and see a movie based on it, and with the track record of cross-overs... Nah.

I think it would be better as a miniseries to be honest.

LA noire has a big story, maybe they should do a serie with it instead of a movie ? that would be the best adaptation imo ! but a movie would be great too, this game would be a perfect candidate for a silver screen adaptation !

as long as it includes the supposed 3 desks that were cut from the game.
