BioWare Teases "Feature X" For ME3
Hey. Don't go givin' us this "X-factor" crap. We want to know.
Mass Effect 3 is destined to be one of the best (and most popular) titles of 2012, and we're all clamoring for more details. Well, as one reader pointed out this morning, it seems BioWare is keeping one feature under wraps for the time being.
Lead Designer Preston Watamaniuk and Associate Producer Billy Buskell have tweeted about something called "Feature X." Watamaniuk's update can be found here:
"Writing the spec doc for Secret Feature X this morning. The easier it is to write a detailed spec the more confident I am in the design."
And here's Buskell's contribution:
"With @PWatamaniuk back in the studio this week, our team was plugging away on Secret Feature X. Gameplay room was buzzing!"
Okay, any ideas? It could have something to do with multiplayer, which has been an oft-discussed new feature for ME3, or it could be something we've never considered. Either way, the interest level for BioWare's new project will only continue to rise as time goes on.

- Mining of planets now require to enter orbit of the planet and physically place mining equipment on the surfaces - with the potential dangers that implies?
- An ingame economy adding a trade element to the game? (major boost to stuff to do after the campaign is done)
- Tradeskills/item creation? (please, yes please)
- A partial integration with the upcoming ME mmo (think Dust 514 VS Eve Online), where certain parts of that universe can be accessed or indirectly changed? (I'm not thinking plain multiplayer here, but "something else"...)
- A more open world where the planets/quests are less linear? (I wish!)
- User generated quests? (No thanks, I prefer to leave that to the pros...)
- Customization/creation of spacecraft(s)?
- Manual navigation of spaceships (or landing pods)?
- The creation of a second character that's assisting Shepard and will be possible to transfer to the ME mmorpg when that arrives?
- A take over of control of planets/systems, ala turfs in GTA:SA?
Oh man, how awesome it must be to work on game concepts for a living... :D

And yeah Claire, more open planets, many of the planets outside of the quests could even be without anything dangerous or particular to do for that matter, just pure exploration if one wanted to.
Enable us to live an imaginary life as a space traveller. :)
