Square Enix Teases Kingdom Hearts III

Andriasang has gathered up some Square Enix news via Famitsu, and in addition to teasing the possibility of a Final Fantasy XI port for the PlayStation Vita, Square Enix boss Tetsuya Nomura had something to say regarding the long-awaited KHIII.
After talking a bit about the series installment for the Nintendo 3DS, Nomura said that those who really want KHIII "will find some answers in KH3D." Furthermore:
"The Xehanort part of the Kingdom Hearts saga will end with KHIII. He currently has a framework of some form in place for the continuation of the series after that, and Sora will remain as main character."
As for high-definition remakes of previous titles, Nomura did say they're "looking into HD technology tests" but he didn't specifically mention Kingdom Hearts. Heck, he could've been talking about Final Fantasy. ...okay, I apologize. I shouldn't have done it.

i wish i had a 3DS for KH3D tho (if only i had afew hundreds of $ here and there). I really hope they make KHIII for PS3 (if not, vita then).

If square Enix listened to their fans, we would have FF X and XII HD games announced by now along with KH HD in the works and nearing release. FF VII remake on PS3 would've just come out and FF XIII would still be exclusive to PS3, feature towns and a massive world to explore AND feature in-depth combat systems where you control all your characters actions and equipment.
All this article tells me is that Square Enix might, MIGHT be considering listening to some of the fans screams for quality games. I still long for the days when they were once RPG kings. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Id prolly be a little upset if they ported it to xbox as the 1st 2 kh's game were only on ps2 and not the original xbox.
But seriously, its been so long since we've even heard about kh3, what with all the little sub kh titles on the ds and psp. Its almost as if s-e is trying to pull a cod type move.
But don't get me wrong, ill be getting kh3 when it does release, whenever that may be. I loved the 1st 2 games, and I've only played kh:com to bridge the gap from kh1 to kh2. But I just want to see the official kh3 game. No more side stories please.
And that's not to say that I don't think the side stories story line won't be any less epic the story lines of the orginial's. I bet they are.

Every other installment wouldn't be found in my top 30....and they're the one's with ENIX on the box...hmmm.
Anyway, not excited about it, but im glad people who're still fully into it are getting their closure.
I'm awaiting more news on the one Jrpg that could end up in my top 5 of all time looking at the trailers, Ni No Kuni. It's causing me much pain and displeasure awaiting news!

It's one of few games this gen where i can't find a concern for an aspect of the game in any of the info or previews.
It's from the same developer who brought us Dark Cloud, Dragon Quest, White Knight Chronicles among others, Level 5. PS3 exclusive too.
Oh and it will come over sea's, Level 5 boss has said as much.

I think it's 50/50 that it will come here for 2012. It's not even out in Japan yet! Hopefully there will be some new info at TGS in September.

If Bioware can make Mass Effect 2 and 3 over the space of 3-4 years, why the he'll does it take so long for Square to make their games?!?!
Is there some sort of cultural gap I'm missing here? Are they so focused on perfecting the little details that Western developers whip over quickly that makes their games take 3 years longer than it should?!?

I rented out KHII at one point, and I enjoyed it, but it was kinda odd. I'd definitely be willing to try out KH3 though. And I don't understand about that HD upgrade tech... Aren't Crystal Dynamics under S-E, and they released Tomb Raider. Or maybe they're going to really make their collections shine.

I'm sorry but ever since KH jumped to multiple systems the series has gone off the rails, I really enjoyed the original Kingdom Hearts very much. But after that I only got fragments of the story on PS consoles, so I could not just keep up with it, sure I could have read all the spoilers from the DS games, but It really defies the point in PLAYING the seires.

No more handheld titles Square!! Please hear our cries!! KH 3 on PS3 by 2013!! FF vsXIII by 2012!! FFVII remake for PS3 by 2014!! That's all we care about!! Scrap all the other stuff you're making after XIII-2 and focus only on those big 3, for the love of God!!! I am, or once was, a big fan, so please listen to our cries!!! It's chicken and egg: handheld games sell, so they make mostly handheld games, so handheld games sell.
I agree. I groaned aloud when I first read about the Fabula Nova Crystallis. Just make one frickin' game at a time and devote ALL of your resources toward it!

And look at FFXIII. The gameplay was not great, but it does show that the Xbox hardware, while weaker, is still capable of some real beauty. As much as I'd love the next FF to be PS3-exclusive, I think most of the holding back comes from the design department and not the hardware.
Square as a whole seems to have lost sight of what makes FF great in the first place. I do wish they'd work with more integrity and just do what they say and say what they mean.
It's alienated its fans, etc, but we still love them, really. That's why every time they say anything, it's on this site (and I love to read each and every article)!

While everyone is wishing on Square Enix, I'd like to make a third wish: Valkyrie Profile 2, Star Ocean 3, and Radiata Stories in HD. Tri-Ace Collection! Of course, me and maybe 4 other people would buy it.
I'm not into MMOs and I'm not getting the Vita, but I have to question the business strategy here. Why FF11? Isn't FF14 supposed to be their MMO focus now? I don't think either would sell very well, though. (That song, Answers, was awesome. Did anyone else go to Distant Worlds?)

i wish $E would go onto some new IPs, create something new.

Also I felt it was unfair to the playstation owners who bought the first games to make all these spin-offs on different consoles, forcing everybody who wanted to know the whole story to purchase different consoles.
