Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition Officially Detailed

There have been plenty of rumors concerning a Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition, but now it has been officially revealed.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced details for the aforementioned Collector's Edition. It'll be available in "limited quantities" and feature all sorts of collectible goodies. Priced at $99.99, it's the perfect holiday gift for the avid superhero fan.

  • Custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
  • Collectible art book
  • Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin
  • Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music including original songs by hit artists, available via digital redemption
  • Bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight

The listing had been on GameStop for a few weeks but it never confirmed the contents of the bundle. It does now, of course, so feel free to head on over and place your deposit on one of the year's most anticipated titles. Both the standard and collector's editions for the game will be available on October 18 in North America and October 21 in the UK.

w money being tight this year...I'm lokoing for downsides not to buy games...unfortunately this fame already had me a bit bothered by how they made robin...if they wanted a "badass" characyer...then why not nightwing instead of making boy wonder not so wonder. would've considered CE for statue...but frankly, it sucks. Batman statue is ok...but something else i would've preferred. idk maybe something of two face or joker. I have gotham knights so blah. early access doesnt equal exclusive...eh pass. Sony marketing also pissed me off so i wont be getting exclusives. on the bright side...it saves me money. I'll only be getting catherine and house of the dead overkill for remainder of year

Kotobukiya makes some of the best statues around so it's worth the price just for that. That will look nice next to my other Batman; Joker; and Joker/Harley duo statues that are also from Kotobukiya. Just hope that the detective vision thing has been worked on. It made the original way too easy for the most part.

Seems like a good value. I hope I'm one of the lucky ones who gets to snag one.

Sounds nice. I usually don't get CE tho. I'm hoping in this game that when you upgrade your suit that some changes are actually made to the suit. At least changes that you could actually see. If they did change things on the suit in the first one, I didnt notice

Looks like a decent CE. I'm not a fan of statues because they're just dust collectors for me and I don't usually care for art books, either... just look at them once and never again. The DLC looks cool but it'll eventually be on the PSN and I already own Batman: Gotham Knight. The soundtrack would be cool but it sucks that it's digital-only. I loved how Arkham Asylum's CE came with a Making-Of disc. Too bad they didn't do that again for this title. You'd think a comic book would appear in this CE, though.

I haven't bought a CE outside of GT5 in years. I do however see my son buying this one.

If I were to buy a collector's edition of a game I really wouldn't want to open it at all. If I wanted to play it I'd want to buy a standard copy. Does that make me weird?

Since it's a collector's item, I'd say no. Once you open it, it loses that collector's edition feel. Once you open it, it's like it just became an ordinary box to hold the game in. Sure, you can still admire the boxart, but once its unsealed, its just not the same.

Well, its time to upgrade my pre-order from standard to CE... along with my Uncharted 3, Skyrim and Assassin's Creed Relevation. I am going to be broke! LOL

pretty disappointing, were paying 50 bucks extra for what a figurine?
the ACB codex edition had a leather diary, playing cards, poster, postage cards, really cool codex box styled like those in the game, and countless DLC items for the exact same price.
im really starting to get sick of LEs, there either really expensive, or lack the content, or in the KZ3 hig edition both.
only LEs ive bought this gen that i can honestly say were worth it were the GT5 sig edition (although a bit pricey), the ACB codex edition, the AC2 black edition, and the crysis 2 nano edition.
that ones by far my favorite, you get a massive figurine of your character ontop of a smashed taxi and the taxi and suit lights up.
you get a massive art book instead of the tiny ones most games give you, like the MK one.
you get a really cool holographic case, and a special print disk different to the LE and normal editions.
only special/ limited edition ive ever bought that really impressed me, especially the detail on the nano suit and plastic gun, they look freaking real!
unlike the KZ3 hig edition for example where the hig helmet looks as plain as possible, and as cheap as possible.

Good, not sure if I'll buy immediately.
Eh, not bad, but I don't care.
