Freddy Krueger To MK Fighters: "Don't Fall Asleep!"
Mortal Kombat has a ton of iconic characters. Time to add another...and this guy's a bad-ass movie icon.
It's Freddy Krueger! He has been revealed in a new IGN announcement video; the horrific demon of dreams is coming to MK on August 9. Warner Bros. then confirmed that fighting fans can grab Freddy for $4.99 (PlayStation Network) or 400 Microsoft Points (Xbox Live Marketplace). He'll be free for Season Pass subscribers. If you love the game, you just gotta try him out!
By the way, Comic-Con attendees will get a chance to check out Freddy's moves at the GameStop in San Diego's Westfield Horton Plaza between 7 and 10 p.m. PT.
P.S. If you don't get the headline, you're just way too young. ;)

EDIT : that video was sick. Freddy's gonna tearsome sh*t up.
But if it were me, I would have made the dreddy video a little more true to elm st. Get some 1, 2, playing in the backround. And have a scene of him slashin someone, and then the next part of the song up to about the 7, 8 part, show one of his fatlities, then again at the 9, 10 part. And then after that, I would have played his crazy ass laugh. And have him do the part where he spins around and sprays blood on the screen. THEN close out the trailer with the nightmare on elm street theme.
But I'm sure someone in youtube land will make a vid like that soon enough.

Some lads i know even imported multiple copies to give to their mates & they all got through, so stress less. Furthermore if todays news is anything to go by, we will be getting the R18 within months, only one state member (NSW) is yet to make a decision but regardless of what he says the commonwealth are set to approve it anyway. So expect a black sticker on our games before the year is out.
& don't worry about current RC games remaining RC, if Ed Boon decides to release a special edition of MK under the new guidelines there is no reason why it won't get classified as R18 when we have the rating in place.
As for Freddy, awesome addition!!!!! Whether he will be as good as Rain (who is an absolute beast) remains to be seen but i can't wait to give him a shot nonetheless.
I am hoping we eventually get some underappreciated MK fighters such as Ashrah,Frost, Tanya, Meat & that minotaur fellow.

RadioHeader,
Don't let the governments give you the wrong impression! Just watch a few games of NRL, that'll set you straight.

Australia introduces R18+ certificate for games
The Australian federal government will introduce an R18+ classification for video games, Gamespot AU reports.
The country's ministers gathered at the Standing Committee of Attorneys-General (SCAG) meeting in Adelaide to bring the long-running issue to a close.
Eight of Australia' nine territories agreed to introduce the new classification pending the approval of the proposed R18+ guidelines.
Only New South Wales abstained from the vote, claiming that further discussion with its cabinet is required.
Federal minister for home affairs Brendan O'Connor announced that the classification would be introduced at a federal level, and that the process would only take "a couple of months."
"This is a big step forward in the long-running debate on classification of computer games for adults," he said.
"Once introduced, the classification will afford adults the opportunity to view material designed for adults. It is a credit to all jurisdictions that the meeting has now been able to achieve agreement over what is a complex matter in classification policy."
Australia has long been known for its tough stance on video games, effectively banning a number of high profile releases due to the absence of an adult age classification. However, the R18+ guidelines allow for more explicit language, violence and depictions of sexual acts.
The new rating will be welcomed by the Australian development community, which recently benefitted from the introduction of research and development tax credits.

Don't get me wrong I love the original Freddy and this was one of the better remakes I have seen in a long long time. I have all the Freddy movies on dvd including the new one.
Yes I shall be getting this DLC but I do not like the fact he has 2 claw hands ? WTF is that all about ?
