MW3 Will Offer The "Same" Experience For PS3 And 360 Owners

With such a ridiculously massive budget and multiple development studios involved, one would hope both versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 turn out to be almost identical.

The major differences between multiplatform versions of a game always involve crucial elements; i.e., frame rate, visual fidelity, overall experience, etc. But Infinity Ward has once again stated that MW3 will offer PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners the very same experience. As Robert Bowling told MS-Xbox World:

"No, the experience in terms of framerate, gameplay experience, features, visual fidelity, is going to be the same across Xbox 360 and PS3."

He didn't mention the fact that DLC is typically exclusive to Microsoft for some time before becoming available on the PlayStation Network. We believe that affects the "experience," but we appreciate what he's trying to say. We just hope the bugs and other little annoyances found in Black Ops won't be evident...'cuz those will be "the same" on both platforms, too.

Seems MW3 is leaning towards Microsoft and Xbox (with the DLC and advertising campaigns) and Battlefield 3 is on the shoulder of Sony and the PS3 (for similar reasons).

I know who I'd prefer to give my money to. I'm not even a fan of war-themed FPS games and yet my jaw was on the floor when watching the 2 rolling demos for Battlefield 3.

It shouldn't be the same, as we all know, but since they are indeed in M$ pocket, of course they are going to make it the same and not use the ps3 to its full capabilities...(their whole statement doesn't even need to be said except to make xbox kids happy)

Stay classy PSX. I'm Ron Burgundy?

The one thing I like about the CoD franchise is its focus on infantry engagement. But like candy, its sweet and then its gone. I'd rather buy games with replay value. Arkham City and Uncharted 3 is what Im waiting for anyway!

There actually is a lot of replay value with cod, if your into that sort of thing.

While the former IW did a pretty respectable job at keeping them close, I really don't think something like that can be done until a massive change happens to the COD engine or a new engine is created altogether. As the current COD engine favors 360s architecture by design.

It'll be the same engine all generation I bet. Only the PS4 and Xbox 720 will force them to upgrade it.

"Same experience"? (Oh look, there goes a pig flying outside my window). I suppose it will be the same experience just like Blops was right? Don't freakin insult my intelligence!
I'm permanently off the CoD bandwagon, and besides, I'll be enjoying an AAA grade PS3 exclusive in November: Uncharted 3.

It was at E3 two years ago that Activision or maybe it was just during the Microsoft preser that CoD DLC was going to be timed exclusive on Xbox for several years. I just can't remember how many of the following years that was going to take effect for.

As for being the same experience, was it Black Ops or MW2 that the PS3 suffered terrible online issues while Xbox had a cleaner online experience? Surely fanboys will claim its because they pay for Live, but we all really know Activision likes it when Microsoft showers them with money to play favorites. (Hence the lengthy timed exclusive deal for CoD dlc)

So basically, both versions will take ~3 hours to conquer on the hardest difficulty, and everyone will be able to see equally how pathetically easy the game is, the storyline blows, and corridor-esque the gameplay is?

Well, at least they set their standards...low enough to reach?

Why does it matter if the COD franchise is in Microsoft's pockets? I mean you don't see Xbox fans complaining when developers like Square Enix or Konami give playstation fans a better advantage on multiplaform games.

If you ask me the real losers are PC gamers and simpily because they have to contend with games have been bottlenecked by closed hardware e.g. the ps3 and 360.

It could be worse, PC gamers could be missing a decent game. Thankfully, most of them are still playing games like Stalker and Arma 2, which don't follow the console first and PC as an afterthought, mindset.

That's because The big titles from square and konami (FF, MGS published by Konami) have always been on the PS brand. They have no reason to complain about something they are lucky to get because of the rapidly changing "western" type of games and gamers.

PC gamers are the real losers. Especially the Modding community. I mean, how dare the developers and publishers make a game that's designed for all platforms at once. How dare they make money!!

Stop shortchanging our PS3's!!!!!!!

Neither versions should be the same.

I remember it took them upwards of two patches and various other small updates spread out for more than a week to get the multiplayer completely functional and eliminate all the little bugs and other misc. problems. And from what I have heard the 360 didn't have such issues. This is the same promise they made last time and were unable to deliver. At least for the first week or so.

Basically, I'm skeptical.

I never had too many problems on black ops besides lag, framrates were pretty steady never too much drops or much. I'd say they did a way better then killzone's framerate on black ops.

Black ops has frozen on me twice but that is online and when I had my crappy router, and now I got my new good router it's a whole world better.

Dude, i play black ops on ps3 and 360. Both consoles hit detection is horrendous, There alway seems to be a host immigration like every other match, and when one person lags, everyone else suffers. Among other problems, this game is to buggy and they should have taken more pride in their work

Yeah I never said it was good, just that the frame rate was alright. Host migration happens when the hosts leaves, so that only happens when the host decides to go.

The frame rate is okay for campaing.

Wow, but Square and Konami are in way playstation brands, this when you consider the fact they've been on many non-sony plaforms even long before the playstation even existed.

So yeah people should really stop this non-sense of associating certain developers with the "playstation brand" because in reality in these developers are only making games for the plaform for business purposes other than some notion of loyalty. In fact the generation clearly demonstrate this given the fact these "certain developers" are more aggressively multiplatform.

WHOA...it's amazing how anti-CoD PSX members are...with that said, all the heat is justified. CoD features a very a outdated structure, the stories are terrible, the action is too over the top, and the gameplay is pretty standard. But MP is fun, no matter the game...sadly, most of CoDs install base are only familiar with CoD's MP. I tried to get my friend to try KZ3 (MP which I don't care for, KZ2 was better), but he's just so addicted to Black Ops. He borrowed Dead Space and Infamous about a month ago and still hasn't beat either one...because of lamea** Black Ops. Those Activision boys are rich!

The only people who care about this news are nerds with no lives and girlfriends who go on NeoGAF and make mountains out of molehills about anything they read online. To them, a real gamer cares about frame rate issues, screen tearing, how nice the graphics look and racking up post counts and not going out and getting some sun on their pimply and pale faces.

Nobody here believes the BS from the outfit who have the audacity to call themselves Infinity Ward. You can bet never-been-kissed nerds are ready to prove fake IW wrong come MW3's release.
