Jaffe Talks Twisted Metal's "M" Rating And Beta Phases
David Jaffe has always put the "twisted" in Twisted Metal.
In speaking about his highly anticipated title at this year's Comic-Con, Eat Sleep Play co-founder Jaffe first confirmed there would be a private and semi-private beta test. He says such a game "doesn't require that large of a testing phase," and the best results will come from a private testing sample.
Then he said they don't currently plan on releasing a Collector's Edition, and he thinks little extra goodies "isn't what the release should be about." We have to agree with that; just give us the game! They also debuted the intro live-action video for the game, which is just downright brutal; Jaffe said the team opted to "embrace the 'M' rating." At first, Eat Sleep Play was going for the T-Teen rating but the bottom line is, Twisted Metal needs to be ultra-twisted.
All we know is that we desperately want to play this game.

Also, Twisted Metal needs to be insane, fun and brutal. You can't be brutal without an M. Sounds like the gameplay is also going to be more brutal with sniper head shots causing like people head's to be blown open which sounds great.
Glad he didn't do the collector's edition. They normally have these cheap things I don't care about. But if he had included say a soundtrack, ST action figure, and TM: Black HD, I would have jumped at that in a heart beat.

how can you have a fast paced highly descruction based online devoted racer without wider beta testing?
come on, please dont let this be a repeat of R2 and the killzone games!
so much fun online, but f*cked if i can get into a game, let alone stay there because of all the god dam lag!
now i know why most MMOs are PC exclusive!

of course its a online focused game, wheres the fun playing this by yourself?
plus the AI will probably suck, and if you play online you can have a sniper in your car.
the campaign is just a filler, online is where most of the time will be spent.
to not have a beta for such a fast paced game like this is just asking for trouble!
