You Can "Tweak" Your Imported ME2 Character In ME3

Oh goody, it's time to play, "let's guess and interpret!"

An excited reader has pointed us in the direction of BioWare executive producer Casey Hudson's Twitter page. The reader wanted to know if we knew the specifics behind the word "tweak." Well, we don't. Very likely, nobody but BioWare does. But check it out and guess for yourselves:

"Yes, you will be able to tweak your imported #ME2 character in #ME3."

Okay, so we know we can import our character and we know we can alter him or her in some way. Beyond that... So what do you think it means? Better yet, what do you want to be able to "tweak?" Everything? We always like the idea of holding on to our created characters from one installment to the next; our hard work doesn't disappear, you know? Anyway, talk amongst yourselves.

I'd like to be able to tweak everything, I really regretted choosing a male character for ME2 and I don't have eight million hours to play through the game again.

That's reasonable: they must have sex-change operations in the future.

lol, if they do have sex changes I don't think it would affect his relationship with Jack much. She looks like she digs ladies already. My Shepard did swing some pipe though, poor guy might lose it.

You can use your created ME2 character on ME3 and if you'd like tweak him or change him to your liking.

I think the importing component is real awesome. It was great seeing just how much effort Bioware put into ME2 to reference all the many subtle and not so subtle choices you made from the prior adventure.
I suspect, like others here, the tweaking has more to do with the look of the character etc.

I stick with the default male Shepard because he's a bit of alright. Definitely virtual eye candy. No tweaking needed.

Well, I'm not sure if they would want any tweaking to be story related from the previous games, but I could imagine they would let you choose different powers if need be. Possibly like how you could choose a new power when you started up a second play-through in ME2.

I didn't bother with changing the default male character in ME2. I doubt I'd change anything considering that I'm use to Shepard the way he is.

I would guess they mean being able to change classes. They may have different classes so bringing in your old character and swapping to a newly available class makes sense.
Will probably play with my bro shep paragon soldier on normal and bring in my fem shap adept for insanity again unless they have something really compelling that is new.

Well on the xbox 360 and PC if you imported a ME1 character to ME2 you were able to change your character's appearance and class so maybe that's what is meant by "tweaking".

It would be nice if they include an option to change who you romanced in ME1/ME2 so you can see in ME3 how all the different romance options play out without spending 1000 hours replaying ME1-ME3 9+ times. Also being able to change the character's sex would be nice too.

I was pretty careful in "crafting" my Alpha Shepard, tho I wouldn't mind changing classes, if tweaking at all. My Alpha, Zeke Shepard is an Adept, which I like a lot, being a great balance overall BUT...I for some reason chose a Vanguard as my Insanity run and man...my Alice Shepard Vanguard kicks ass!
I won't be doing nearly as much with her, just want the trophies, so would possibly make Zeke into a Vanguard for ME3 if possible.
Btw, I name my characters after my kids, so easy with the remarks if you don't like the names please:-)

id be cool if everyhing you could change in the first 2 games was doable at the start of ME3.
really want to ply through ME2 again because i got jack killed, but everytime i play through the last level no matter what i do either her or the guy i send through the ducts dies.
no freaking way im playing through the whole freaking game again just so i can continue with one player!

yea.
no matter who i send they end up dying when you get to the first doors as there trying to close them they get shot and die.
either that, or when i split away from my crew when they get ambushed jax always dies.
its really weird though its always only one, never both.
i think its because when miranda and her had a fight i did not have enough points so i had to choose a side and since jax was really pissing me off i went against her.
i think thats why she keeps dying.

Here's some tips for getting everyone through the final mission...

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

First of all do not pick anyone who isn't loyal to do any tasks in the final mission such as hacking in the tube or leading the fire squads.

Here's who you should pick for each job.

Fire squad 1/2 leader: Garrus, Miranda or Jacob.

Tech Specialist (for the tube): Tali, Legion and I think Kasumi but I'm not 100% sure.

Biotic specialist that protects the squad with a biotic bubble: Samara/Morinth or Jack

Escort for leading the Normandy crew back to the ship: Anyone that's loyal preferably your weakest pure combat squad-mate such as Tali, Mordin, legion or Kasumi

At the end don't bring anyone to the final battle against the human reaper who isn't loyal. Also leave the strongest combat squadies to hold the line such as Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed and Thane.

You were able to tweak and modify your imported character in ME1 in ME2, that is if you had a Xbox or pc version. You were able to change your gender and alter your looks, you could even change your class type.

PLEASE be appearance. I took 20 minutes making the face of my Shepard on an attempt to not make her face look fat and once I was about 2 hours in, I actually started watching cutscenes instead of skipping them (2nd playthrough), and I realized she was like a freaking zombie. Very disappointing. I hope I can fix it.

I played as a Paragon default male Shepard, so he will stay the same. I actually made a cute Renegade Female shepard who eyes seem to show a little when she blinks. Sometimes it looks stupid when I notice it, so I would like to be able to fix that by pushing her eyes back a little. As for classes changes, I could care less, but I know alot of people might want to change it so thats a nice bonus if it exist

BioWare wants you to choose female Shepard

Developer BioWare has turned to its fanbase in an effort to decide what version of the female game star Shepard it should put on the cover of Mass Effect 3.

The series has always allowed gamers to choose the sex of the main lead, though 80 per cent of players choose to play as a male Shepard

Last month it was reported that for the first time the female version of the character was to grace the cover of the Collector’s Edition. The male Shepard will still be the lone star of the normal SKU.

Now followers of BioWare on Facebook have been asked to select one of six variants of the female design who will be used for the cover role. Notably none of the six appear the same as the default female Shepard that has appeared in previous games.

I didn't vote simply because I'm boycotting that there wasn't any "redheaded" option(Mmmm,my fav).

But I think #3 comes the closest for me, & maybe #5 could have even been my pick too, if she didn't look so damned butch, LOL
