Silent Hill HD Collection Headed To PS3 This Fall

It's almost as if we hear about a new high-definition collection every week.

Konami has announced the Silent Hill HD Collection for the PlayStation 3; the attractive package features Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. These games were creepy and chilling, and survival/horror enthusiasts will say both experiences are well worth having. And besides, who could possibly forget Pyramid Head?

Featuring 720p HD, "completely updated in-game voiceover directed by series vocalist Mary Elizabeth McGlynn," and full Trophy support, this collection boasts games we don't really see anymore. The genre has adopted more action-oriented trends this generation (Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space, for instance), and we haven't yet seen a full Silent Hill console release. So when the Silent Hill HD Collection arrives - it's tentatively slated for a September/October release - you'll want to indulge. Right?

Trophy support is definitely surprising, but entirely new voice work? Hm. Either way, it's definitely an interesting collection for sure.

I wish they would put in Silent Hill 4. But SH2 in HD is a Insta-buy!

Strange they don't put portable ops in the MGS collection. MGS2 was still a good game but since I don't own a psp I was hoping I could finally play portable ops since the story/timeline events is after MGS3.

Aren't there like 9 silent hills? The first was for ps1, the next 3 were on ps2. What happen to the other 4? Probably get this.

Add Silent Hill: Rooms.

Plus, spin-off video games based on the series include the visual novel Play Novel: Silent Hill for the Game Boy Advance,
the arcade game Silent Hill: The Arcade
and the mobile games Silent Hill: The Escape and Silent Hill: Orphan.

God, it really has been raped since Team Silent left, hasn't it.

Thank god Team Silent refused to sell out.

It ends at 4 for those that cherished it.

I want this for sure, I love horror and Homecoming was such a letdown. Looking forward to Silent Hill Heavy Rain... I mean Downpour too.

I'm with Oyashiro though, why isn't The Room in here? I didn't get far in that but it had some really great moments from what I did experience.

Ah The room
Very disturbing, those torso-less schoolgirls that walked using their arms and had a high pitched scream made me a frightened panda!

Enough! Enough! There's too many games releasing this fall that I want to get! No more!

I'm kidding of course, the more the merrier, and this one will definitely be on my list-though it may take me a while to get to it.

There are a lot. Seems too crowded to me. I bet a few big ones will get delayed until 2012.

Yeah, well that would be smart because although I want most of the games releasing this fall there's no way I can afford them all so I will have to wait to get them. And I think most people are in that situation too.

By far the best movie adaptation of a game, It caught the atmosphere perfectly, the only problem is that it did not scare me.

This was announced back at E3... And yes I'll want to indulge, but not immediately. Next year sometime. Also, we need more genuinely creepy games rather than 'adrenaline-creepy'.
Peace.

I'm suprised these HD editions are missing out PS1 titles, I remember the Metal Gear Solid Collection on the PS2 had MGS1,2 & 3, Why can't they do that for these?

People playing SH3 for the first time will simply not enojy the experience as much if they have not played SH1. If they do a good job on this I will get it as I believe Silent Hill 2 to have one of the best narratives ever in a video game and the atmosphere is actually more depressing than scary, its the only horror game to hit me so deeply.

+1 brother.

SH2 was the one game i can say that was actually quite deep & emotional throughout. Depressing & bleak would be some other terms i'd use for it too. It really was something special & i seriously cannot see another horror game matching it. Ever.

SH3 was just as deep but in a more disturbing way because of how it just randomly shoved screwed up imagery into the settings that made you pause your character to survey your surroundings just to see what the f*** was going on.

Pulsating flesh, walls that bleed, valves being turned by things in butcher aprons, the whole game just toyed with your emotions.

SH2 was the only one that actually scared me.

Hearing animal noises moving in the fog...chilling.

It was the first I played, so that may be the reason the others didn't have the same impact.
