Silent Hill HD Collection Headed To PS3 This Fall
It's almost as if we hear about a new high-definition collection every week.
Konami has announced the Silent Hill HD Collection for the PlayStation 3; the attractive package features Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3. These games were creepy and chilling, and survival/horror enthusiasts will say both experiences are well worth having. And besides, who could possibly forget Pyramid Head?
Featuring 720p HD, "completely updated in-game voiceover directed by series vocalist Mary Elizabeth McGlynn," and full Trophy support, this collection boasts games we don't really see anymore. The genre has adopted more action-oriented trends this generation (Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space, for instance), and we haven't yet seen a full Silent Hill console release. So when the Silent Hill HD Collection arrives - it's tentatively slated for a September/October release - you'll want to indulge. Right?

People playing SH3 for the first time will simply not enojy the experience as much if they have not played SH1. If they do a good job on this I will get it as I believe Silent Hill 2 to have one of the best narratives ever in a video game and the atmosphere is actually more depressing than scary, its the only horror game to hit me so deeply.

SH2 was the one game i can say that was actually quite deep & emotional throughout. Depressing & bleak would be some other terms i'd use for it too. It really was something special & i seriously cannot see another horror game matching it. Ever.
SH3 was just as deep but in a more disturbing way because of how it just randomly shoved screwed up imagery into the settings that made you pause your character to survey your surroundings just to see what the f*** was going on.
Pulsating flesh, walls that bleed, valves being turned by things in butcher aprons, the whole game just toyed with your emotions.
