Deus Ex: Human Revolution Golden

It's one of the most promising games of the year, and fans of the franchise have been waiting quite some time for Deus Ex to return.

Today, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal have announced that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold and will be available in North America for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on August 23. The game has been in development for over three years and everyone is anxious to see how it turns out. Said Eidos Montreal general manager Stephane D'Astous:

"We couldnít be more excited that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold and will soon be in the hands of expectant gamers. As the first release for Eidos-Montreal, itís impossible to express how extremely proud we are of the final product and all of the hard work that went into its creation."

Featuring the open-ended hybrid style of gameplay the fans have always loved, Human Revolution tells the story of Adam Jensen, a cybernetically-altered individual "who finds himself in the middle of a global conspiracy to which he holds the key." Like other entries, the game is set in the fictional future and boasts a slick sci-fi environment.

It's all about "how you want to play," and that's the single biggest appeal. Let's hope this one is a winner.

I wasn't planning on picking this up on day one, but I very much liked Invisible Wars on the Xbox so I'll be keeping my eye on reviews to see how it turns out. I hope it's as great as many have said it's gonna be. I also heard the PS3 was the main development platform for it so should be best on PS3. Yay!

David Anfossi, the producer of the game, stated back in the middle of last year, that there is no lead platform for this game. Each version was going to be developed simultaneously.

Ya. I just remember hearing the PS3 seemed to edge out the 360, and is also why all the gameplay videos are of the PS3 version.

Not all. There's a fair share of 360 and PC gameplay videos available now, all featuring on screen button prompts for each version, compared to a few months ago. The latest PC gameplay video I watched even had a poster for Final Fantasy XXVII on one of the walls in an office in between gun fights lol.

dont believe that BS, the 360 was the lead platform.
whats really weird is in the PC build i got, theres some prompts for the 360 controller.
some things are in PC controls, and some are not.
for example to start a hack on the PC you have to press E, but then to select to nuke a node you have to press RT.
ahhhh, last time i checked the PC does not have a RT!
whats really weird though is a third party dev did the PC version, eidos montreal had NOTHING to do with the PC version.
so why would the PC version be using 360 assets, when they were not developing the 360 version?

Been getting more and more excited for this. I'll most likely get it on day one at this point. It's just really intriguing to me for some reason.

As a Deus EX fan who has played both games I'm really looking forward to playing this and I hope it's better than DX:IW and much more like the original Deus EX.

Well when I heard of this I was not interested, but following it here on PSXE has made me interested. Never played a Deus game before and maybe I get this, I'm starting to warm up to these open first person adventure games that aren't quite an RPG like Fallout, but certainly aren't your basic empty military FPS.

Took the words right out of my month. I never played these games but now I'm interested in this one. But it won't be a day one buy for me, but it's on my list.

Yeah I'm pretty much on the same page. The FPS action RPG games are taking over what used to be "actual RPGs". So they kinda have to grow on you and this one just looks very well done.

I'd definitely be (even) more interested if I could play it in third-person view. I just find first-person view too restrictive and fake-feeling, even when it's done well (e.g., Mirror's Edge).

I'm having trouble getting into Borderlands for that reason.

i got a early build of this off a friend of mine a few days ago.
its a awesome game but really messy!
about 7 levels in now, it just feels like they were really rushed to get it out the door, everythings there but its not stuck together properly.
feels like someones just grabbed the pieces out of the bin and stuck it together with homemade glue, its oozing all over the place and falling apart!

perfect examples gotta be the level design.
they give you the choice to play stealthfully if you want to, but make it nigh on impossible to do so!
they give you the choice of how to play, but then make it impossible to play how you want to play.
for example you need to get into a room, you can A but in and blow everything to pieces taking 5 minutes.
B sweettalk the guy behind the desk in letting you in taking 5 minutes.
or C spend 10 minutes finding a different way into the room, and spend another 20 minutes avoiding 100 guards working your way up the levels.
thats the problem, they give you the choice, then practically make it for you.
if you take one of the first 2 options its so easy because you have to travel like 200M because where you start is on the right level.
but if you decide to go incognito, you start in the basement and have to work your way up.

its made even worse by the level design.
for example you have to get to the next room but the only way you can get to the next room is going down the stair case where theres 10 guards guarding the stairs.
so IF you can get past them theres a duct which lets you sneak underground to the next room.
but whats the point, you have already sneaked past the guards so you might as well just walk to the next room.
it does not give you ducts to avoid enemies, you have to avoid them yourself then you get to them.
what the?
its not like conviction where you had rooftops where you could hide from guards, you have to get past them yourself by silently crawling behind them, then once you have avoided them then your rewarded with the ducts and such.

another big problem is theres so many side quests, but for some ridiculous reason you cant hide them.
so your in a building trying to avoid detection, and have 5 markers on your map.
how do you know which one is relevant to the mission your doing?
thats the problem, each mission has several optional objectives but it wont tell you whats what.
so you could spend 20 minutes getting somewhere then finding out oops thats not the objective i wanted to finish, better move onto the next one.
they need to make it that the objectives are listed.
in your inventory it tells you what objectives are, say you have 5 objectives and 2 of them you dont want to do.
so you will have 5 markers on your HUD showing where they are.
but how do i know which ones are the 3 i want to do, and which one are the 2 i dont?
you dont, there all labeled the same so you dont, you have no way to know which is the objective you want to go to, and which one is not.

another thing i wish they would fix is why do you walk so god dam slow!?
in missions its fine, you have to crawl to stop making too much noise.
but outside missions outside in the city traveling from mission to mission, or getting intell from the townspeople, or obtaining side objectives you walk so god dam slow!
takes 20 minutes just to walk 100M, i mean come on do i have to get a wheelchair out for ya?
you can only sprint for a really short time too.
come on, we need to be able to walk faster!!!!!

great game, just has some serious balancing issues!
