Resistance 3 Beta Dates, Stay Tuned To Get In Early

The Resistance 3 beta test is closer than you might think...even closer if you keep reading PSXE.

For the public, the beta will begin on August 23, several weeks before the game hits store shelves on September 6. If you picked up SOCOM 4, you can get in much earlier on August 4. This sample will task players with forging their own "progression paths" and "spending their hard-earned points to customize load-outs that fit their unique play styles." The available arsenal will include the Bullseye, Rossmore, Marksman and others, and we'll get to throw down with some awesome 16-player Human vs. Chimera action. Available modes will be Team Deathmatch and Chain Reaction.

Yeah, those SOCOM 4 players definitely get the jump on things. But if you want to get in even before that, we'll give you a way to try the beta on August 1. We'll have some codes to give away, so stay tuned as we plan to divulge the details later this afternoon. We can't wait to try Resistance 3; despite all the BF3/MW3 talk, R3 remains one of our most anticipated titles of the year.

Ooooh snazzy. This is the FPS that I'm waiting for this year. BF3 will just have to wait. As for MW3...meh.

Wow this is interesting, JohnLD told me around early july that they're releasing the resistance 3 beta, I went and i put my code in from socom 4 and i got in.

Ever since then I been playing alot, I got to rank 20 in about 2 and half hours,the first update erased my rank back to zero lol. ever since then my beginners luck ran out,it's a very fun game.

Also Infamous 2 is such a great addicting game. I just love the infamous series wow.

I really won't hold out hope to get one of these codes but will stay tuned to see how to get one :) I will most likely get R3 as my only FPS this fall :)

Uh it counts as half FPS as only when you zoom in the optics it counts.

I read on a Norwegian gaming site a couple of days ago that they were allowed a hands on preview of R3 and was mighty impressed.

Now, that may not mean anything at all, but this site in question is one of the larger Norwegian game sites, run by the largest newspaper in our country and cover all platforms. No fanboys write for them, they are all experienced both journalists and gamers. I consider them to be trustworthy.

So who knows, this might actually turn out to be pretty darn good!

Guyz I just came back from my vendor fare... Resistance 3 beta (multiplayer) is pretty awesome. Just felt like resistance 2 with improvements is all I could say... Only got to play for about 15 mins. But it really is looking great. Nice guns, new perks... Wish cellphones and filming was allowed XD

And on another note... I bet I can make you jealous if I dare say I had hands on the Vita :P

LOL well all I can say is that there is no flaw in responsivness. Lag free ps3 graphics with very intuitive controls. And I couldnt see the OS because it is still in developpement. They talked about features and flash support is definitly on their *want to add* list. And as for the feel thing... Console is really sturdy but light. He did mention it was only a small battery inside and a bigger one would be implemented so it might weight a bit more than the regular psp in the end.

Woot! I got my socom code, but really happy to see all my friends will be able to try it out before it releases.. Great news.
Now hopefully the masses won't be too conditioned to CoD & be able to appreciate a real shooter.

I've already played the resistance 3 beta. I punched in the code that came with my Socom 4 game about a week and a half ago and it worked. So i've already played it. If you don't believe me then add X_shadowkilla_X .

sweet, been dying to give it a try!
apparently they delayed it from its original start on the 25th because some would of still had there plus access from the WB package, so they wanted to change it thus delayed it till the 4th.
oh well, gives me extra time to finish deus ex human revolution.
o, and i got invited into the BF3 alpha today, so im really excited to give that a try.
shame it finishes in 2 days though......

Early?! I have been playing the beta since Friday! Got a closed beta code by applying at Insomniac! The multiplayer is awesome. Upgrades for guns, new skills, and attributes, plus kill streak items. If you liked the first two you will like this one. "Reaper Corpse" rules!
