PSXE Poll Update: PS3 Takes Care Of A Gamer's Needs
Typically, we usually say a multi-console approach is best for ultimate gaming greatness.
But as a generation goes on, many gamers find themselves sort of honing in on one particular console and for PSXE readers, that machine is the PlayStation 3. Perhaps surprisingly, the vast majority of our readers say they only own a PS3; a much smaller percentage own multiple systems like the PS3 and Xbox 360 and PS3 and Wii. Of course, as we are a PlayStation-centric site, the PS3 was bound to be the most popular console but we kind of thought there were more multi-console owners out there. At the same time, if we examine all the pros and cons and check out the available libraries...well, we can't say we blame the majority. The PS3 really does feel like the top-tier gaming machine these days.
The week before, we wanted to know what you thought about Catherine. Well, August's biggest release is arguably Deus Ex: Human Revolution so what do you think about that one? Are you one of those die-hard Deus Ex followers who will buy it regardless of critical acclaim? Are you a newcomer to the series and if so, are you curious, or are you indifferent? Let us know.

But when it comes to actual usage, I think noone beats the gaming mouses from Logitech. They *look* boring, sure, but oh man what a precision and durability. You own one *forever*, they just keep going.

It isn't -because- SE is involved that I think it won't be what it's supposed to be. (Not saying it'll be bad, just that it won't be as awesome as it's supposedly supposed to be) But the SE brand doesn't make me hope against hope is all I'm saying. (Like if it looked bad and you saw Naughty Dog or Sucker Punch on the label, you'd think, naw, it'll be great by launch... You know what I mean?)

In the end... you go with what you think is the best choice at the time. The same choice may not always be the best in the future. Companies and products have cycles... you can't hit on winners all the time.
However, the PlayStation brand - and what it stands for - is synonymous with quality and a healthy pyramid of exclusives to the platform; this will know doubt keep Sony at the forefront of gaming even though I do so risks ahead as the gaming landscape changes radically.
When a company like Apple have more cash on hand than the US government, it tells you something. Apple hasn't even begun yet to flex its muscle in the gaming space... wait and watch when they do.
Whatever happens, M$ and Sony will try to raise their games, or at least try to keep their lead as best as they can; but it can't be denied, the landscape generally is looking different than it was during the PS2 era (as far as Sony goes anyhow), so we will have to see how these markets pan out for the 3 big hitters and then some...
Apple in one corner - the others in the other corner... someone eventually has got to be the winner... I wonder who that will be.
One thing we all know... is that it is always about the games, the software and the experienced offered during play and remembered there after... once in a captivating world it is gamers bliss... and gamers want to be in bliss, all the time...

I also have a GBA - the GB, GBC, and GBA libraries are also really good.
My dad also bought a Wii. I don't have many games for it but I think it's turned out to be a fine system. I'm not sold on the motion controls but games like Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Tatsunokou vs. Capcom, etc, make it worth it.
