Dead Island Golden, "Fight Together" Trailer Released
It's bloody and brutal, and it might just be the fast-paced zombie-slayin' game you crave.
The intriguing Dead Island has gone gold, and it'll be on store shelves on September 6. It shares the launch day with Insomniac's Resistance 3 but while both games are played from a first-person viewpoint, I think we can all agree that both are quite different from one another. Also, if you haven't seen the co-op side of Deep Silver's production, check out the new trailer released today.
Featuring a hectic survival concept in which players must use anything they can find as a weapon, Dead Island combines fast-paced action with several deeper, RPG-like elements that enhance the experience. And let's not forget that tremendously well-presented CG trailer that has wowed the gaming population.
...no, the game won't look like that. But it should still be fun.

They took the whole undead thing from the norm and put it somewhere that will either make it very unique, or or a flop. And honestly, imo this game looks likes gonna be effing epic.
I just watched the trailer with the little girl last night, and it got. My hopesup. I know that was the cg and not the gameplay, but still, with the atmosphere this game offers I think dead island will do well for its self. I can't wait til 9-6, cause this games gonna be sav.

this game is a great example for the hype discussion as well. the first trailer created a lot of hype. it sure got the game the radar so to speak. i only wish the gameplay matched up with the tone of the trailer.

maybe i am projecting some of my dissapointment with re5 onto this game as far as my dislike of the sun is concerned. it wasn't really the sun that screwed up re5 either. having said that, i still think dark and creepy works better with zombies. that's just me though.
whoever made the first trailer did a great job of getting this game noticed. i will say that.

And don't get me wrong, I love the norm of eery dark apocolyptic atmosphere that every other zombie game has, but the fact that di doesn't have that same atmosphere has striked my fancy. I think it may be the way I choose to look at the game.
In a z-day type experience, everywhere is effected, not just rainy overcast cities that were once a quiet little burg in a mountainess forest with a creepy coproration mansion. Everywhere. So to see di take it to somewhere like a vacation resort, for me anyway's, gives me a sense that there's no escaping the zombie apocolypse, and that the only means of survival are your wit, cunning and your will to live.

re 5 is the only one i dislike. it kind of fell flat on its face in my opinion. zombies on motorcycles and with machine guns? a hulked up chris was a turn off as well. it's like they were going for some gears of war vibe instead of resident evil.

I agree. But when a developer has made 15 or 16 other bad games before hand, like Techland has, then I'd be a little worried. I'm still picking this one up though as I'm a sucker for zombie themed entertainment. If it's bad, then I'll treat it as a romp through a B class zombie flick. If it's good, then it's money well spent. I did like the first two Call of Juarez titles so all hope is not lost.

still, i love zombies and it could be fun in a L4D sort of way. we really haven't had a great zombie game yet on the ps3. i would love for a developer to take on making a great zombie game with serious overtones. kind of like the tone in the walking dead series or the tone of the first trailer of this game.
