Analyst: Bioshock Infinite Will Easily Outsell Bioshock 2
No matter how great a game is, disappointing sales are a killer.
But Irrational Games and publisher 2K shouldn't have to worry about Bioshock Infinite. Not only is it an established franchise and a recognizable name, but it's fully expected to be one of the best games of 2012. And on the strength of these factors - along with the ever-building hype - one analyst believes the hotly anticipated title could hit nearly 5 million units shipped. In a note to investors, Janco Partners' Mike Hickey believes the upcoming Bioshock entry will ship 4.9 million copies and generate $221 million in sales. For the record, Bioshock 2 shipped 3 million units (as of March 2010). We always like to see top-quality games draw the attention of so many gamers; here's hoping these estimates are accurate.
Not many multiplatform franchises can boast of such numbers; maybe Bioshock can enter the elite 5 million+ club. Current members include Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy...yeah, you get the picture. Big-time company right there.

Any who want to play the first two can get them cheap now and those who do will be forced by sheer awesomeness alone to buy Infinite. So yeah, 5 mil sounds good.

The second feels much like "an excuse to return to the action", like a sequel to a movie that never was meant to be more than one. But then again it was not produced by Irrational either.
I am very happy about Irrational making an entirely new setting for the third game. And with the stuff they showed at E3, well, this game is more bankers than even ME3 right now.

i cant say which one was better, each had parts that were better and parts which were worse.
the level design for instance in 2 is better, the combat is better, the weapons are better, but then the story, and overall feel of the game was better in the original.
2 priceless games, and 2 games EVERYONE should play!
id love to see ken work on a cop based game like stranglehold or max payne.
dunno why, just feels like it would suit him really well.

id expect infinite to sell at least 5M units.
hell look at LA Noire, a new IP, done by a new pulbisher, who has never made games before, and there aussie who are not exactly known for AAA games, in a new never before done genre.
if that can sell 4M units and its only been out for 3 months, then i think infinite, a game thats done by a well known publisher, in a famous series, in a famous genre, will kick its royal a$$!
not to mention LA Noire was only available for 360 and ps3 ATM, where infinites going to be available on all 3 platforms.
dunno if they have mentioned if the vita version is the same game or something different?
plus if they do a wiiU version.
should break 5M units easily!
