Rumor: Four Sony Exclusives Yet To Be Announced
Sony's first-party studios know how to make unbelievable exclusives. And it seems four more are on the way.
In addition to working on the new God of War (or so we all assume), it appears a Sony Santa Monica employee is working on no less than four currently unannounced games. As cited by Vicarious Games, studio sound designer Steve Johnson is working as the Audio Lead for Journey, plus helping with four other titles that haven't been revealed. Of course, it isn't abnormal for internal employees to help at other studios, which is why you see Johnson's experience with games like inFamous (Sucker Punch) and Twisted Metal (Eat Sleep Play), so we may not be talking about four Sony Santa Monica productions. Still, it's clear that all four are from Sony's internal teams so we should be dealing with four exclusive projects.
So when might curtain lift? Are we looking at Vita or PS3 games? Or perhaps more PSN exclusive digital offerings?

Well, seeing how 19/20 games are multiplat, and 9/10 of multiplats supposedly runs as good or better on the 360, I'm not so sure how you came to that conclusion of yours, mr Pontiac... ;)

Case 1: 50 games, of which 5 games are exclusive for this platform and can not be played on the competing console.
Case 2: Missing out on the above mentioned 5 games, but in return are enjoying the best version of the remaining 45 games.
Five less games, but 45 better games versus five more games... (dramatic pause)... but 45 inferior ones.
Now, purely hypothetical and without mentioning any names or manufacturer, what would objectively speaking be the overall best deal here?
Let's at least agree that the best alternative is not crystal clear here.

19/20? Please, by all means show me list. I would love to see it. I know of a few major games coming out in which the PS3 was lead platform.
Plus, even if what you said is true, please tell me how the 360 offers me MORE then alleged superior multiplatform titles.
My PS3 in the last 12 months has given me GT5, KZ3, IF2, S4, with R3, S4 and UC3 coming up.
So, if a 360 game has slightly better AA or textures here and there, it's still not worth 60 dollars a year to enjoy the games feature set.

I will take KZ, LBP, GOW, Uncharted, Infamous, etc. As a collective whole every time over the 360 exclusive library offerings.

That's exactly what I think too. The multiplats are good enough as it is! The differences are usually so minor that you have to compare them side by side, and like you say, why do that in the first place?!
On the other hand, and I can only speak for myself but in the bigger picture I would not mind *that* much if I had access or not to those few AAA exclusives I find interesting. It's not like I could not live without them.
The titles I truly could not have lived without happen to be multiplats, so if I am to be completely and utterly honest and objective I have to say that for me as a gamer it would not really matter much if I had one or the other.
Still, I feel that the PS3 is my "home". I really am very pleased with that buy. It looks good, plays good, is *not* Microsoft (that in itself is a reason for me) and it matches my Sony audio equipment, Bravia TV and SE mobile phone.
So, I shall never change side, *regardless* of the exclusives, as long as the good multiplats are available also for the ps3. To me it's that simple.

i admire your courage in playing devil's advocate. your analogy is great in my opinion and makes sense. do the great exclusives make up for the shear number of slightly inferior multiplats? i really wonder about that sometimes. gamers aren't stupid. they know which system multiplats play better on and there are way more multiplats than exclusives. that's about all i have to say about that... does a somewhat inferior ps3 multiplat ruin the experience for us? no, it does not. does it have an impact on many gamers opting for a 360? it must have somehow. i can come up with no other logical reason why someone would choose a 360 over the ps3 except maybe the quality of live and access to early dlc. what i have termed the "cod effect".

Yeah, if someone was about to buy a games console today and heard that most games played better or equal on the 360, well... I can easily understand why one would choose the 360. And I would not say they did a fatal error by doing so. How could I!
Back when I bought the Playstation I knew *nothing* about consoles or their games. I thought *all* titles were exclusives to their console... No kidding, I did!
Back then there was not that many ps3 games either. The guys at the shop tried to help me by telling the arguments for both platforms, but when I asked them directly what console they would recommend for gaming, they replied with the 360.
It was the blu-ray player that was made me decide on the PS3, since I love watching movies and blu-ray was the decided winner of the HD format back then, and the ps3 was one of the best players on the market. That, and the design. I thought it looked best of the two. That's why!

I want a ninja game,not a hack n slash a PROPER ninja game.
Like scouting missions where you steal enemy clothes and learn passwords to infiltrate castles and learn troop patrols, mapping out the interior so the main mission(assassination/sabotage/information gathering or abduction ect..)can be carried out perfectly.Sombody please make this game, its basically a mesh of hitman,mgs3/4 and tenchu..oh & co op would be nice too!

I would bet that since one producer is covering 5 games, they're all PSN games.

I know and very well realize it is in fact a demo, but in walking around and looking at the detail I leave somewhat saddened. Especially when I think back to the excellent R1, with blinders on of course since I don't still own it to be able to actually put it in and play it.
How things are drawn and created that exist in the demo leave only so much room to be shined and polished. I won't say it's a turd and that whole saying. I do have hope but remain bothered by what I've seen. I've rolled over and seen her the next morning only to try to remember what could have been...
Maybe what bothers me most is the fact Insomniac had a GEM of an exclusive launch title and now 5 years later, they are not releasing a CLEARLY better game, graphically speaking.
Anyhoo, thanks for letting me rant and 'breathe it out.' Bring on the exlusives!
Stay classy PSX...and all my 'Sota peeps

I also am not a graphics snob. I don't need Uncharted quality graphics. Just don't label a 2006 Mustang a 2011 Mustang (look-wise) and then wonder why I'm not all geeked about it. I preordered it and will still buy day one b/c I believe the story will be good and also like and want to support the series.
Stay Classy PSX...

i think people were expecting it to be uncharted 3, which was never going to happen!
i was surprised from the beta, only thing that was good about it was the graphics!
hell, if it plays as good as it looks then it really will be the best resistance yet!

some "new" footage leaked today, and theres 2 job profiles on team sohos page the guys who were originally doing 8 days and the getaway 3.
are my hopes prares and dreams going to be answered tomorrow?
or is this going to be a repeat of E3, and the syphon filter scandal?
only time will tell.......
though i hope SM is not working on GOW4.
not yet, id much rather them wait a while, do a new IP, maybe HS2.
id love to wait till TM is out, and is a year or so old so it has heaps of DLC and support.
then send david and team over to sony SM, and put him back where he belongs.
in the creative top seat of GOW!
cory did a great job with 2, but hes gone now.
stig did a ok job with 3, but to be honest hes not producer material.
they NEED to get david back in the creative hot seat, and return GOW back to its glory!
id love to see them actually not bring kratos back.
so many times hes died and meraculesly come back to life, so enough is enough!
start afresh with the series father, and a whole new protagonist!
