ICO/SotC Collection: Bonus Content, Trophy Lists

As far as high-definition collections go, this one may be the creme de la creme.

And as further incentive to purchase the ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection when it hits store shelves on September 27, check out the bonus content and full Trophy listings at the PlayStation Blog. First up are the five exclusive bonus videos included on the disc:

  • Early concept and prototype video montage of ICO
  • Early concept and prototype video montage of Shadow of the Colossus
  • Initial concept video for NICO, a game that was never made but turned into Shadow of the Colossus, including an on-camera introduction from creator Fumito Ueda
  • Candid 20+ minute round-table discussion between Fumito Ueda (creator), Kenji Kaido (producer) and Junichi Hosono (designer)

Plus, there's a 12-minute behind-the-scenes video that was filmed on location at SCEI's offices in Japan, which includes interviews with many of the most important individuals behind the classic games. We already know about the 1080p HD, 3D support, and 7.1 surround sound, but now we have the list of Trophies, too; hit the link to check 'em. Unfortunately, they don't tell us what we have to do do to get them...

I'm hoping there aren't a lot of time-based Trophies for either, especially SotC. I just think these games need to be relished and half the fun is discovering how to conquer a certain puzzle or take down a particular Colossus. Knowing how to do it and just going as fast as you can isn't nearly as entertaining, IMO. That's just about reflexes.

Yay! Man I can't wait for this collection. Top of my list!

And there will surely be a bunch time based trophies, like the unlockables from SotC. That and collecting all the fruit/lizards.

I'd like trophies for things like defeating all the colossi without falling off once you're on. I know that could prove to be a good challenge for some of them. (edit, I guess this wouldn't work for all of them. Some require you to get on and off, like that gecko/lizard thing)...

A couple of nice videos to go along with the games, but I think it's kind of meh that there's nothing been announced so far relating to The Last Guardian on the disc. That'd be the kicker for me. Not to say that I'm not already getting it but... yeah. When does this come out again?

Read the article on the PS Blog, it says there's a behind the scenes video that will show exclusive Last Guardian footage. This Collection releases September 27th , no date for The Last Guardian as of yet.

My bad, I don't typically follow links, but checked the EU blog, earlier where there was no mention of this :D

I'm absolutely loving these HD Collections. I sadly never had the chance to game on a PS2, and this collection has been in my pre-order stock for MONTHS.

I never had the opportunity to play either of them either. So yeah I am looking forward to this nearly as much as anything else this year.

Sadly no. That's what bugs me. Why can't I get a 7 foot statue of one of the colossi?

Thanks, figured with all the mentioning in the article about what the trophies really were it would be handy. Wont become a habit. ^^

About the time-based trophies, I'm with you Ben. They only make sense in games where beating the time is *the* point (e.g. racing games). I do not like it when I'm being rushed through a level or a boss fight just so I could get the trophy. This is why I did not get the platinum trophy for God of War.

Anyway, the Ico and SOTC HD Collection is really sweet. I would've bought it just because of the two games but I wouldn't mind these extra stuff, too.

Like there is any need for incentive to get this LOL
My Most anticipated game right alongside Uncharted3. Mind you that if pressed, I'll put this a hair above Uncharted3 on my list...

Supposedly yes. Of course, they're upscaled from SD so, maybe not... Whatever.
