inFamous 2: Festival Of Blood: Face Off Against Vampires

Hey, you know what inFamous 2 is missing? Yup, vampires.

Sony has revealed a new standalone game for the PlayStation Network, and it's a new playground for one of our favorite new superheroes. It's called inFamous 2: Festival of Blood and it's coming to the PSN this fall. As Sony told Eurogamer, you do not have to have inFamous 2 in order to play this new offering. See, that's what "standalone" means. The beleaguered city of New Marais is facing an all new problem: the invasion of vampires, and guess what? Cole has been bitten and infected, and he has only one night to find and kill the head vampire; evidently, that's how he'll cure himself. Festival of Blood apparently offers "hours" of fresh gameplay along with new themes, environments and monsters.

Sony says this shows the "darker side" of the inFamous 2. ...yeah, so we gathered.

Man, this is a great idea! I bought this D1P and have not played it yet. (Blushes) Everyone keeps talking about how great it is. I completed inFAMOUS just before it came out so I have been waiting, but I see now that was a big mistake.

This is what I have been waiting for. I wanted to play more singleplayer after inFamous 1 and 2 and this looks to deliver.

Hey MP, I have heard the player generated maps are really cool too. I haven't played anything I2 yet, but I will. You might want to give them a try. Sucker Punch has something very special gelling here.

Oh, I have, to the tune of around 30 plus!

My only issue with them is that they are not story driven enough!

Festival of Blood looks to solve that!

I've played a couple little story-type user missions that were cool, a GTA one, an LA Noire one, and a Jack the Ripper one. They tend to come in segments.

Not me, Dead Island will be the first full production zombie game on PS3. Unless you count Resident Evil 5, which people shouldn't ;)

Dead Island looks interesting. Zombies themselves are so very boring, always slowly walking toward you moaning all the time. Must be easy to program for. :?

Actually we haven't had slow zombies in a long time, I'm looking forward to them because they are scarier than the fast ones.

Romero prefers easy mode, hence the slow walking Zombies and the idiotic npcs.

Who's to say this title wont be playable on Vita?

Now that would be slick marketing. inFAMOUS2: Festival of Blood playable on PS3 or PSV. A Vita game out before the system itself.

I much prefer zombies, but maybe they wanted to be different and could even kick off Vampire fever much like the current zombie fever.

Vampires are a whole different type on enemy. Unless you count Nemesis level type Zombies your a dealing with mostly slow dead weight. Just a whole mess of it. I guess that's what people Love about it. The fact that the get to blatantly mutilate creatures at will. Over and over and over... Mankinds ever present thirst for destruction at its best.

Vampires are much more complicated than that. I just cant see vampires just carelessly walking into the line of fire for the heros target practice pleasure. Vampires simply change the game.

Which is why Call of Duty Zombies are so popular. Endless target practice. Hmmm... maybe they should do a Halloween theme COD Zombies with Vampires and Werewolves they could be bosses on the maps!

I like the way Sucker Punch is somewhat melting the inFAMOUS universe with real world places and events. New Marais as in New Orleans and now this Vampire theme for Halloween. Mortal Kombat too! Where will Cole show up next?

This is just plain awesome. My personal GotY so far (sorry Portal 2 and Dead Space 2) getting its own version of Undead Nightmare, but with vampires instead of zombies. I'm really interested to see how this will turn out.

That is awesome. I'm wondering what kind of new powers Cole will get from the vampire infection... I may have to take my PS3 to a mate's place just to get this. Too cool.

All for it but my only question is... how do we defeat vampires as Cole? Wooden stakes =/= electric zapping in the balls.

Can't wait for this though. I platinumed inFAMOUS 2 in four days so ever since I've been looking for a reason to play it again (outside of the UGC, which, I'll admit, is sweet). I wonder if Zeke will join him? Wooden bullets in his gun.
