Pre-Order Sony 3D Monitor, Nab Resistance 3

The door swings both ways: use the new 3D Display to promote the 3D software...and vicey versey.

Originally, Sony was going to bundle Resistance 3 in with their new 3D monitor, but the game was later replaced by MotorStorm: Apocalypse. However, if you act now, you can grab both titles when you purchase the high-tech new display.

The monitor won't be on store shelves until November, but if you pre-order it before September 30, you will receive a free copy of Insomniac's highly anticipated shooter, in addition to Apocalypse. By the way, that monitor comes with a pair of 3D glasses and the all-important HDMI cable. It was on display at E3, where Sony showed off the fancy new SimulView tech, which lets two players use the 3D glasses to view different images. So, no need for split-screen anymore.

It's a $500 package but considering what you receive, the price isn't bad. Especially if you pre-order and nab Resistance 3.

Is it releasing outside USA? I'd like to buy it next year. Hope it isn't that kind of accessory, which just appears and then disappears after sometime.

So strange that they messed this thing up with the changes.

What changes? Are you referring to just the changing of the bundle with Resistance, or have their been more changes.

Ben, you might want to include how big the screen is when you describe it. Instead of saying 3d monitor, maybe say the 24 inch 3d monitor. I couldn't remember how big it was, so I had to google it. Would be nice if the article said.

They changed it, then changed it back sorta here. I know 2 games are better than one, but most folks will probably only remember the first change who aren't on top of it.

Unless you live in a closet or a dorm room I don't see anyone wanting this.

Yeah, curious size choice. That might be the size limit for that Simulview technology at this time.

Size only matters when you're full grown baby.

And there are many student gamers who satisfy this condition.

I have a 32" in my bedroom and i can't imagine using anything smaller. My pc monitor is 24" but i sit 2-3' away. I'd never be happy with an overpriced 24" screen.

They should at least come out with a bigger monitor something like a 42'in I'd buy it by itself... I already have motorstorm and I don't play fps so there is really no point for me to get it.

This is way too small for me. When I go 3D, I'm going with a 60 inch! :)

Looks like a PSP. Good timing, name the price...

...oooohh, maybe not. However this is actually a really good bundle, main reason being that for PC users: you can enjoy 120hz smoothness as well as 3D with PS3, I believe. [Bash me if I'm stating the obvious]. Sound quality looks promising too.

As far as I've heard, it's a 26 inch screen, which is usually big enough for being a decent TV.
I though, want a little bigger, I play my games in a fairly small room on a 32" screen, which, for my circumstances, is exactly big enough. If I move out of my parents' house within 2 years and settle for a larger student house/room, I'd think 26" won't be nearly big enough to be useful.

Bottom line, I love the tech behind it, just make a bigger version of it (at least 30-40") and I'll look into it.

i really cant see the point of this.
with 3D size really does matter, the larger the screen the better the effects.
24 inches, you might as well go for a PC monitor and save yourself quite a bit of cash!
stay the f*ck away from alienware though, the AW2310 has the WORST ghosting i have ever seen!
its got some really cool tech but in this size its pointless.
in a 32 or higher ok but 24 is just far too small!

THAT...is a sexy tv. Too bad its not 42" or larger. I don't care too much about the 3D but the SimulView is pretty awesome sounding that makes the size acceptable :)
