Ni No Kuni Magical Edition PS3 Bundle Lights Up Japan

Now we know that the PlayStation 3 version of Ni no Kuni arrives on November 17 in Japan.

But we know something else, too. According to Andriasang, Level-5's promising RPG will receive the honor of a PS3 bundle: It's the Ni No Kuni Magical Edition and it boasts what should be a slick - and definitely original - console. It'll be a mix of white and gold and...well, it's bound to be pretty. But don't bother asking if it'll come to North America because that's extremely unlikely. No, if you want this hardware bundle, you're gonna have to move or import.

As for the game, we're hoping to see a US/UK release date some time soon. Ni no Kuni is one of those titles that appeals to old-school JRPG and anime fans and you know, there aren't many of those left. Well, it seems that way, at any rate.

This NEEDS to come. I've always held Hayao Miyazaki's movies in very high regard (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky (original Japanese version), etc.

The gameplay and art style look absolutely amazing. When I read Level-5 and Studio Ghibli were collaborating on a game together for the PS3, I turned my wallet upside down and said, "Take it. Take it all. I don't care. Just give me the game."

Definitely a Howl fan, here. :)

I will be purchasing this game new, no doubt. Level 5 and Studio Ghibli both deserve all the support we can give them.

Wow. I didn't realize this was a collaboration between Level-5 and Studio Ghibli. That is the best thing I have heard in a very long time. Thanks for mentioning that DrRocks. Two of my favorite companies working together to make something for my favorite system?

Very few movies made me shed a tear. Grave of the Fireflies made me cry. Studio Ghibli movies (particularly those of Hayao Miyazaki's) are masterpieces. We need to see this game localized in English!

This sounds amazing. Id love to get my hands on a white and gold ps3. It would probably be as pretty as the blue ps3 that was given away some time ago.

As for the game, I havnt ever heard of it (can anyone give me a rough translation of the title)but if its sure to please the jrpg fans, than count me among thy flock

Check out the article on Wikipedia. Looks like it means The Second Country. It really looks fantastic for fans of JRPGs and Studio Ghibli's work. Really, this combination is brilliant.

Seems like western gamers like to bash Japan and their style of gaming (especially this generation) but I think we can all agree they know how to make bundles. I recently got the Infamous2 bundle and while it's cool to get a system and a game for that price I wish it had something special on it.

If I didn't already have 2 PS3s (giving away my slim120 this weekend to the parents) I'd think about getting this.

Man this is a RPG I would love to have, why do they assume their is not enough fan base for these type of games man not be a huge amount put I can name at least 20 of my friends who would love it.

I really don t know what to think about that game . The gameplay don t seem that appealing to me , i never really liked having pets fight for me .

That s the reason why i m not sure because everything else seem really good . Especially the art style , look so much like a top notch anime .

It wil definetely be a day one purchase tho if nothing else come out near the release date .

P.s Princess mononoke was their best work if you ask me .

As many outlets are predicting, it'll be the best Jrpg of the last 5 years....but i think it'll be one of the best of all time and my personal favourite RPG of the generation.

Lofty expectations...but it's Level effing 5! What's more, the trailers make it look absolutely perfect.

If this bundle came to the UK, you can bet i would buy my PS3 again!

My affiliate registration with these guys isn't through yet so I won't make any money by telling you but Gelaskins dot com has skins that can do wonderful things to your PS3. No skill required just slap it on. I got the one that makes mine look like an old typewriter.

Back to the game, this thing is going to be amazing. If they drag their feet on the localization I'm gonna be a sad panda. I'd rather have this than most any western game.

It's the creature that hunts the crew of the Nostromo. The creature was designed by H.R. Giger.

I have no idea who took the alien design and made it out of veggies.

: :double sigh: : obviously the veggie part is why I was asking. I didn't recall lettuce on the bodies of the aliens in any of the four films. Matter of fact Alien is one of my fav movies. It totally trumps Aliens, which I hate when people say it's better.

Agreed, Aliens is 80s cheese and nothing else. If you haven't already I suggest you check out the Assembly Cut of Alien3. It makes Alien3 a great movie and certainly better than Aliens. While I strongly believe Alien should have always been a standalone movie I can stomach Alien3. Aliens just turned them into bugs and targets for guns.

I'm sure you're aware of Ridley Scott making the movie Prometheus which started out as an Alien prequel and now is said to "simply include the DNA of the alien". Basically it's said to explore the origin of the Space Jockey. I think it's a terrible idea but oh well.

I may have seen that ver of Alien 3, I have the Quidrilogy on DVD. I saw one version where the Alien came from a dog and another where it came from an ox I think.

Yeah I heard about the new one. I'm just holding out hope only because it's Ridley Scott returning to sci-fi finally.

I only heard that there's something to do with it in the works. A new Blade Runner sounds likes a horrible idea to me. I'm actually watching Blade Runner: The Final Cut right now, just got it in the mail. =)

PS: was it the ox ver cause that's the ver I liked most.

Yes the ox version was the Assembly Cut. I don't know how I feel about another Blade Runner. I don't hold it as close to my very being as I do with Alien so I'm a little relaxed with the whole idea of another Blade Runner. I think the first one is amazing, especially given the time period it was made.

Remaking Blade Runner is like remaking any classic, it will repeat the basic story and character elements, and utterly fail to capture the feeling and 'spirit' of the original. Look at the Longest Yard - for example. To me, it was a total failure at capturing what made the original what it was.

Remakes are rarely a good idea, which is perhaps why remaking a game like FFVII might not be a great success. The HD re-masters of PS2 games work because they are the original game with slightly better graphics, but FFVII would have to be completely re-done. That would, IMHO, destroy the charm that makes FFVII what it is.

He is involved thus far as only a producer but I believe he's picked to direct. Also no worries, I've heard it is definitely not a remake.
