DICE: The Console Versions Of Battlefield 3 Won't Suck
Because EA started by showing high-end PC footage of Battlefield 3, the knee-jerk reactions began.
But DICE would like to remind everyone that in fact, the upcoming shooter will indeed be released on consoles and no, those versions won't suck.
Battlefield 3 executive producer Patrick Bach said they're starting to show "more and more console" because they want to prove that BF3 is pretty damn impressive, regardless of platform. Said Bach:
"We want to show off the console version, and people shouldn’t be too worried about it. We are shipping it on console."
Obviously, if you'd like a little extra detail, you can always boost your PC or build/buy a new one, but DICE maintains that console owners won't be disappointed. Bach also added that the beta test for BF3 should be coming "soon," so maybe we'll get a chance to see how the PS3 version of the game looks.
In all honesty, we're not really concerned.

What I had a lot of trouble getting used to were the controls... why do developers all have their own idea of the buttons for MELEE and CROUCH??
Seriously, the COD button setup is just fine. If other developers wants to have their own setup, then at least let the players choose their buttons as an option. How hard is that?

if i had a nickel for every time i had to email tech support to get the blazing game working properly id be a multimillion by now!
im practically best friends with the nvidia driver team, im almost emailing them weekly!
console games you just pop in and away you go.
PC games are constantly freezing, frame rate issues, installation issues.
the witcher 2 for example i had to reinstall it 6 times, 5 times it said some files were missing and i had to restart the whole installation process.
or red faction armageddon, for some reason it keeps dropping to like 5FPS at every cut scene only way i can boot it back up to 60 is to alt tab out then back in then it goes back up to 60 then back to 5 at the next cut scene.
i honestly spend more time getting the blazing games to work then i do playing them!
not to mention 99% of games use steam now so you have to sit there and wait for them to update.
i got a new rule now, if i want to play on my PC i turn it on at least a hour before i want to start playing.
that way it gives me plenty of time to screw around and get it working.
then theres the whole debacle of SLI profiles, most games dont get one for weeks if not months after release!
in short not worth the headache!

The PC environment can be frought with upsets, like blue screens of death, program launching woes, driver issues, stability issues, bugs etc.
Sometimes I pride myself in fixing those problems myself by going in and editing config files from within the game directory, like I did for Torchlight the other day.
And I think SLI is generally a waste of money.
Anyway keep up some of the most entertaining reads on PSXe ;)

only thing though its never as efficient as official profiles, but its better then nothing.
nvidia really need to get there finger out and have SLI profiles for games ready on launch!
if battlefield 3 and RAGE dont have a SLI profile on launch there going to have allot of flaming bags to stamp out!
3D profiles too, bulletstorms one for example is still really buggy.
ACB just got a SLI and 3D profile a few weeks ago, a good 6 months after release!

driving me nuts!
the beta is suppose to be this month, so how can they be weeks away and not have a date ready?
battlelog just went back online a few days ago that means they just started testing the stuff for the beta, a little late no?
ah well, im just dying to see what they have changed.
only been like a month since i last played it and im already suffering from withdrawal.
hope they let us choose which platform we want our code for the beta.
i bought MoH on my ps3 but obviously i dont want the beta for my ps3 i want it for my PC.
