Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer World Premiere Heats Up
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is all about the multiplayer. Without it, we don't have a franchise.
And with the Call of Duty XP weekend already in full swing, all sorts of information and footage is flooding out from the west coast. The first involved a lot of rosy statistics for the CoD series and the second is the world premiere of the official multiplayer trailer. It's nearly four minutes of intense action, which may or may not impress the hardcore fans (depending on their point of view). Check it out:
It's inevitable that MW3 will sell millions upon millions of copies, and will become the biggest multiplayer game of the generation. It'll likely be the biggest title of the generation (sales-wise) so obviously, the hype and expectations are through the roof. After everything you've heard and seen, does this trailer satisfy? Are you impressed with what you see? Can't wait for November 8?

In MW2, there's an auto-aim malfunction. In most CoD games, there's an aim assist feature called "auto-aim". It helps you quickly aim in on someone. However, in MW2, when sniping, it fails in favor of the person who knows how to exploit it.
When you bring your sniper up to aim, there is a moment before you can see through the scope where the aim is directly on a person. But you can't see it. What people do, is rapidly bring the scope -almost- to their face, so all you see on your screen as the sniper, is the big round scope (without actually seeing anything through it). If you fire before you see the zoomed in image, you will hit -ANY- player on your screen. Often, you'll see in slow motion final kill cams, a sniper go off with a big scope in front of the screen. Then when it zooms in, you see the aim reticle literally 10's of meters away from the person.
Basically, people exploit the auto-aim to hit their target everytime. It's pretty dirty. You can get a head shot without aiming anywhere near your target. It works through buildings too. People will scan the outside of buildings with lots of quick scope shots and kill people on the other side without actually aiming at where they are.
That's the dirt I'm referring to.

The same can be applied for capture the flag. It would be awesome for Search and Destroy, but those games are too short to hit 9 kills consistently. For search I keep it restricted to 3, 4, and 5 killstreak killstreaks. That way I regularly capitalize.
But yeah... TDM when everyone is everywhere with little to no tactics... Stealth Bomber is almost useless.

Watch from 47 sec to see for yourself ^^^ .
There are pro perks in the killstreak slot ( pretty weird to see ) .
There is a proficiency slot ( focus , kick , attachment , can t wait to see what they mean ) .
The stronger killstreak will be even harder to get , 14 kill instead of 8 for the silent bomber for example .
Like most know there is a new game mode called survival and also the one called Kill confirmed unless it s another name for a old gametype .
Also can t forget new weapon , killstreaks and perks .
Yes it s basically the same but as i said early , so are most follow up .

As for camping, I think localized roamers, as I call them, will be fine. Camping in terms of never leaving a very specific spot, yeah that'll suck for them.
By localized camping, I mean when 1 or two people hold down an area. I know when we have 4 or so of us on at a time, we select an area to hold down. After each kill, we adjust our location in that area, but we still hold the same area. That's different from camping. For us, there would be no problem for picking up dog tags.
As for me, I don't care too much about kill streaks. I would prefer to use the dog tags as bait. Camp a dog tag! lol Some poor sucker comes gallivanting along to pick up a dog tag, and BOOM! hehe. I like being allowed to be clever in games.

This video doesn't show a whole lot of change either. Guns still sound a bit generic, graphics are still roughly the same as MW2. But let me guess, since my opinion may differ from yours, im a CoD hater right?

Every year COD beat record in sales , why would they change everything .They take what put them on the map and try to improve them the best they can ( yes it s not always for the best ).
I ll be the first to admit that nothing perfect and some things should have been worked on more like the unbalanced weapon in black ops .Every time i picked the famas it felt like i was cheating .
P.S it s hard to name a game that did nt change after the 3rd or 4th one because the sells started to be pretty low at that point .

These are just off the top of my head. If I had an XBOX, I'd probably prefer Halo and Gears, too.

When it comes to shooting games, very few games have actually captured my interest. Call of Duty Modern Warfare series is one of them, and the biggest one. Something about this game series really makes it just great to me, even though it has its' multiple flaws and glitches.
Edit: Other shooting games I liked were the older Socom and Medal of Honor, but how time changes things...

I'm pretty sure if they improved the flaws from previous titles, I would welcome CoD back much more warmly. At it's core, it's not bad.

Modern Warfare series are a big target of that, but through thick and thin, I love the gameplay, the perks, the killstreaks, how realistic guns look and etc. The games are just awesome to me and have kept me entertained for years.
As the years go by, I honestly do find myself less and less interested in other gaming titles, and Modern Warfare series is the main series I can always go back to for more fun (other series include Ninja Gaiden, Tekken, Gran Turismo and hopefully a FFVII remake).
Edit: I agree, at its' core the series just try to do what the fans want. I strongly believe it's the camping, young (like really young), hacking and glitch exploiting community that ruins the game for a lot of people. As annoying as all that is even to me, it's not annoying enough to keep me away.

1)MP (in comparison to KZ2): downgraded 24player matches, smaller maps, base camping, poor spawn point sx. in warzone, Infilitrator class abuse, no way to counter enemies cinematic melees (thats wasn't that bad though)
2)Single player: Too much on-rail action, weak acting, overuse of musical score, Predictable average story, again poor character development and a very poor ending even for FPS standards.
KZ3 was a good game technically, but when you compare it to other games already on the market...the only things that truly stand out are the graphics, weapon response and speaker rattling audio. But even those are preference and KZ3 did nothing to exceed expectations or set a bar. The game definitely handled better than KZ2, but thats where my praise ends for that title. I was higly dissappointed and didn't regret trading it earlier this summer.
I enjoyed KZ3 as much as I enjoyed MW2 and Black Ops...meaning it was a forgettable experience!

Just wondering why you don't like KZ3. What about CoD makes it better than the rest? you know?
Inquiring minds want to know! Not trying to be critical of your preferences. Afterall, "best game" is pretty subjective. Who am I to tell you what you like? Know what I mean?
As for me, I'm not a huge FPS fan to begin with. So I'm largely critical of most FPS games already. At it's core, I think CoD is great. But over time, I'm constantly faced with more and more issues. For example, MW2 is full of cheaters... quick scope glitches... hiding in rocks... it just ruins the experience for me. And I think I just get bothered by the fact that the programming problems in the game never seem to get fixed. That kind of thing bothers me.
But KZ3, for example, took fan criticisms, like how KZ2 felt "too heavy" to some people, and completely altered how it handled to make it a better experience. I can appreciate that sort of thing. Know what I mean?

You mentioned r2: the multiplayer sweetspot is 8v8 for.most games. The maps in r2 were 2 small for the amount of players it tried to accomodate as long the maps are proportioned properly, cod can make 32 player matches work

Honestly, this game is ruined for me less by the developers, and moreso by the people that play it. (Developers aren't without fault. They should be able to fix it.)

i'm kinda hoping that these changes would make the game bomb so that it would knock activision down a peg. however, we know that wont happen because alot of people would just mindlessly keep playing the game just because its call of duty.

anyways, the call of duty community doesnt change. cheaters, glitchers, campers, whiny bastards that think they're immortal because noone can find them on the internet. you say that they raised the devastating killstreaks at higher counts, all that will do is get those campers/glitchers to camp and glitch more often. thats what they do. hell, that what they did in modern warfare 2 to get the nuke.
as of now, call of duty and its community is already hectic enough to play. so, you add more killstreaks or whatever and its going to be quite unbareable to play. couple that with "lazy" developing where glitches and exploits somehow passes through quality testing, then i really dont want to play a game like that. i rather they go back to the COD4 formula, not like they strayed far from that. just a COD shooter, 3 killstreaks, basic perks, and decent maps.

I watched some video on gamespot and like johnld said they are changing the killstreak system and are now calling point streaks. So kills and objectives count towards killstreaks or strike packages.
Also there are three classes like the trailer shows. The assault type has the like the attacking killstreaks like ac 130 and stuff. The support type has EMPs and UAVs while the specialist earns a new perk every two kills. Apparently when the specialists get 8 kills then the person will have all the perks to their character until they die.
Also they removed the lightweight, marathon, commando and stopping power perks.
I'm liking the changes they are doing but its still looks the same. I'm hooked on Battlefield 3 at the moment still.
