Arkham City New Game Plus Detailed

Supposedly, Batman: Arkham City will provide over 30 hours of gameplay. And that's sufficient.

But if you love the game (and that's likely to happen), you'll want to play through again and take advantage of that New Game+ option. Many have asked what the benefits are of starting over after completing the campaign and now, Rocksteady community manager Sarah May has given us the answers.

Firstly, you'll start your New Game+ with all your earned experience, including unlocked upgrades. That's awesome but don't think you'll be running around as a superhero God: there will be no counter icons over enemies, the thugs will be tougher right from the start of the game, and bosses will give you more of a challenge. In other words, it's just like Hard mode except that you have all your upgrades, so you get the technical edge. Might as well take all the help you can get!

It sounds great but here's my problem: Batman: Arkham City comes out on October 18, right in the midst of the release insanity. Who the hell is gonna have time to play through the game again? I mean, I'm sure it'll be great but there's just so much to play...

Well think about it, everyone won't be getting every game this fall. I'm only getting UC3, ACR, Batman, and Skyrim. AC doesn't hold any replay value once its 20hr campaign is over (don't mess with the MP), UC3 will shelved after the first amazing 12hr playthrough (not really into the MP), and SKYRIM may take me a god 200hrs, but I will do this in spurts. Batman AC may be the only game I truly replay as I replayed the first one six times. But if I get one of the FPS big hitters (MW3 or BF3), then I might not have enough time to replay it...see what happens.

I'm playing this game till I hear that platinum trophy chime. I just hope the perfect combo isn't as impossible to land this time.

perfect combo was easy to do, just do it in one of the challenge modes. you dont have to do it straight step by step. just punch, dodge, counter, etc. just keep dodging and leave the downed takedown last.

not sufficient, bloody brilliant!
allot of games are far too short these days, KZ2,3,R2,3,GOW3, can all be finished easily within 7 hours.
not really worth the 120 bucks!
though why does it have to be harder?
why cant we just replay the game for the fun of it?
ok your going to have your upgrades from the start, but so what?
thats why i hate allot of games these days, you cant just do things for the fun of it.
why?
i mean isent that the whole point of playing games?
removing the counter icon is just stupid, especially when your up against allot of enemies its really hard to notice attacks coming.
