Bloodsucker Virus Spreads In Skyrim
Okay, you gotta be careful about those damned communicable diseases.
The fantastical world in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim isn't exactly realistic but when it comes to the vampire disease, you had best take it seriously.
As revealed at G4TV (make sure to watch the video), if you get bitten by a vampire, you need to locate a cure. If you can't, you'll not only become a vampire, but the way you play the game will entirely change. Sunlight will be a definite problem but on the upside, you can really be evil and you'll receive a significant power boost. Personally, I love the idea of playing as a vampire, provided it doesn't inhibit other potential growth. Humans are typically best.
Skyrim is part of a massive fall lineup and as far as RPG fans are concerned, there is no more important title scheduled for the end of 2011.

And playing as Vampire is always secondary, like I made a bullsh*t secondary character just to experience it along with the Dark Brotherhood. Being a vampire makes the game harder or more strategic I guess, not sure why anyone would want to play the entire game knowing the sun is your worse enemy. But it is a cool feature.

Gaming side note - I can't believe how poor the mechanics are in Fight Night Champion. It's kept me up all night trying to beat Isaac Frost.. And wondering what the HELL EA was thinking. :(
Sorry for the off-topic.. I'm just.. So vocally disappointed!

Now if they'll just bring back lycanthropy, it'll be a full Halloween fantasy fest!
