Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Solo Gameplay Is Familiar

It's not your quintessential single-player experience from Insomniac, but it's Insomniac. You can always count on a great solo adventure.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One really does encourage you to play with a friend or two (or three), but that doesn't mean you can't have a blast playing by yourself. Visit the PlayStation Blog to get a glimpse of the single-player gameplay, which certainly looks encouraging. If you play alone as Ratchet, Qwark or Nefarious, the AI bot (Clank) will accompany you in your noble quest, as he has always done in this franchise. When you get to a part of the game that requires teamwork, Clank will do everything necessary. And if you opt to play as Clank? ...well, Insomniac has a surprise for you.

All 4 One arrives on October 18 and although it has to compete with Batman: Arkham City on that same day, R&C always offers a lighthearted platforming/action experience. Also, don't forget about the "very limited public beta" slated to run from September 13 to September 27. Keep on eye on the studio's Twitter feed and Facebook page for how to grab a code. We might get some, too.

Hey, nice. That looked good. I can see tech upgrades too with their engine.
Now isn't this game like a "Move" only game, or something?

Hope not. I'll actually try this.

No, you're probably thinking of 'Playstation Move Heroes'. 'Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One' will use a Dualshock 3 controller. The extra feature is it'll be playable in 3D.

Can't wait for this. I already have it paid for at Gamestop. I'm grabbing 'Arkham City' too but a week later. Figured that will sell upwards of 2 million anyway so why not help out the underdog instead?

I'm very interested in this now. I thought you HAD to use 4 players but I see you can do 2 player only with just 2 characters on the screen so this will be a preoder for me. The last two were superb. Now, if only I knew who to preorder from.....

@ DrRockso
Walmart has an incredible deal for Batman.
Batman: Arkham City w/ Preorder Bonus* Batman: Arkham Asylum & $10 eGift Card (PS3)
Just thought I'd let you know. If you don't have the original now you can get two for the price of one plus $10 ecard and the original is game of the year edition.

yea, until R3 released!
played the beta the other night, suffice to say insomniac have now become my most hated developer!
what they have done to resistance and now R&C my most beloved series EVER!
what they have done to them makes what $E has done to $E a godsend!
they have turned my beloved lombax into a freaking kids game!
it always looked like a pixar movie, but now it plays like one too!
cant a single thing i love stay pure this gen?
whats next to go down the proverbial sh*t hole?
sly?
