White Knight Chronicles II DLC Already Available In US
If you've already picked up White Knight Chronicles II, you're probably indulging in the epic role-playing goodness.
And if you're enjoying the adventure, you'll want to expand upon the experience, right? The good news is that North American gamers already have access to some extra downloadable content; you can find the full list over at TheGamersHub.
Most of it involves your character and their new Incorruptus; just visit an Incorruptus Workshop and obtain a Knight's Ark to take advantage of the new material. Some you can grab separately; other pieces of content are bundled together. There are various hairstyles, fancy new colors for your Incorruptus (we like the Aqua or Jade), and plenty of Tickets, including the Dahlia Ticket, Experience Ticket, Guilder Ticket, and Results Ticket.
You can probably expect more DLC as time goes on; this game can only get bigger. As for our review, that's coming but we ask that you be patient. It's a big game and requires our full attention for quite a while but we promise to deliver the analysis ASAP.

Oh and BTW for those of you that beat the 1st WKC I hope you didn't save over your initial completed game save file. If you did like me you're screwed as far as loading your previous playthrough into WKC2. Pretty dumb that I've spent well over 100hrs on the game but I'm unable to load any of it into the sequel.

And like John, I will be clearing up my Equipment inventory to ensure I lose nothing important in the transition.
Oh, Underdog, a properly leveled character with semi decent GR can solo the final fight in their skivvies.

But as far as the " paying money for in game $$$ drops " lv, I would consider that cheating too. But I don't have internet, so while you guys and quest online ad get those naturally ( you lucky sob, haha j/k ) if I have a few extra bucks here or there that can help me get the loot I can't other wise obtain through natural ways ( questing online ) than next time im around some net for a minute with my ps3, maybe ill pick one up so I can get good loot, doing quests solo.
I mean, I want awesome gear too, but since I can't get online to quest with people, than I don't see how this could hurt but I do completely agree with you that if you DO HAVE THE MEANS to obtain these drops naturally, and you choose to buy tickets instead, than yeah that's kind of cheating. Hell I still look at it as cheating the way I may or may not do it.

It's not like this is the first time a sequel has implemented a previous game's save file for bonus content. They screwed this one up if you ask me.

Sounds like a lot of people are being very judgmental about these things, when in fact they do not harm anyone's enjoyment of the game at all. Those XP/GR/Gold/Dahlia/etc tickets do you no harm, but they let others boost their character. Since the online questing is entirely co-op based, how is that a bad thing? And why would anyone label that cheating.
:rolls eyes:

I decided to replay the remastered first wkc before jumping into wkc2, and boy am I glad I did. But ill get to that in a minute.
I originally decided to replay the first to catch back up on the story. Cause I only ever watched the cutscenes the first time I played through, after that I skipped them all.
Now, the reasons I'm glad I am replaying the 1st:
A lot has changed in wkc, battles for instance, now each monster has a certain type of attack that its weak to, I.e. pierce, slash, strike. Replaying it gives you the oppertunity to learn which attacks are best for which monsters/mobs and even gives you a little insight for staggering the larger beasties.
Then there's the errands, and bounties, and quests. The introduction of dahlia for those of us who didn't get to play origins. New types of armor you can purchase with dahlia, new items such as repaire items to repair your gear.
And I even read that there's a few new cutscenes that have been added to the first wkc. I can't say that's true or not as I've pretty much just started my new game ( kept all my money, gear, items, gr ). That and since I havnt watched the , I won't remember what they were or what was added.
But yeah, its worth a replay.

On one hand he is a diehard and quite vocal fan of jrpgs. On the other hand, his reviews are usually quite analytic by nature with little focus on personal preferences.
But who will get the final word in this particular review? Ben the fan or Ben the analyst? Will he chose the easy or tough road (there's no doubt what will be best received around here;)... )
I really have no idea at all what to expect in this case.

As a veteran JRPG player, I have no trouble showing the game to friends, nor any problem recommending either WKC or WKC2 to friends. If JRPG fans constantly measure new games against yardsticks like FFVII, FFVIII, Dragon Quest, Xenosaga and the like, they will constantly be disappointed. That's because measuring any game against a genre defining title such as those FF games is bound to end in disappointment for anything except an exceptional game.
Funnily enough, the fact that we even have a discussion where WKC can be, and is measured against such defining games suggests that WKC hits sufficiently high a mark to at least be worth comparison. So very many JRPGs and RPGs have come and gone that were not worthy of comparison at all.
I do think though that there is a monstrous pair of rose tinted glasses being used when making such comparisons. Any and all flaws in those older games are ignored, while every minute defect in WKC/WKC2 is picked to death. Having put very many hours into WKC, and knowing many others who have done likewise, I can honestly say that while this game is not FFVII or FFVIII, nor is it Xenosaga or Xenogears, it is a very good game that gets undue and unfair criticism from all quarters not because it's a bad game, but because it's not up to the unrealistic expectation of it being as good or better than a genre defining game. It is what it is, a very good, solid, JRPG. The story may be conventional, but then so many JRPGS have 'conventional' stories. The combat system works well, the skill system is interesting and with WKC2 more so. The synthesis system can be challenging, the whole GeoRama/Geonet thing adds a new dimension to the game as does the continued replay value of playing online quests in what amounts to a light weight MMORPG in addition to a massive single player JRPG.
I do not honestly understand why so many people pour scorn on the game even while applying faint praise in other respects.

Seriously, if someone has to resort to using the tickets, either they are (rarely) in real hurry to catch up with their friends. more likely they are a clueless n00b who can't be bothered to learn the game, and therefore doesn't know how to play it. They are the ones that need the assistance.
