Battlefield 3 Beta Details Released, Starts September 29

If you're a shooter fan, you can now plan the end of your month.

After all the rumors and speculation, DICE and EA have finally confirmed that the long-anticipated Battlefield 3 multiplayer beta test will kick off on September 29. It will take place on the Operation Metro map in Paris, where we'll sample Rush Mode, in which two elite teams face off; one on the offensive and one playing defense. Check it out.

And yes, the beta is available on all three intended platforms (PS3, 360, PC). Hit the link above to go to the official site and learn more about the test; if you picked up the Limited Edition of Medal of Honor at some point, you're getting in. You can also land a spot in the beta by pre-ordering Battlefield 3 at select retailers.

So you should have all the info you need to join. Have fun!

Im a non playstation plus subscriber so obviously i'll have to wait longer than 9/29.

What are you talking about? There are multiple ways of getting in if you're not a Plus member.

In fact, I don't even see where Plus is a requirement.

Its a public beta u dont need anything jus go to da ps store and dwld it, if u have MOH LE or u preorder on origin u get early access on da 27th

That looks absolutely ridiculous!!! I can not wait until this game comes out!!! I'm sorry but this looks lightyears ahead of Mw3 from what i've seen so far from both single and multiplayer. I honestly think this will be the better game

Good News: BF3 Beta starts in 7 to 9 days depending on MOH LE purchase or not.

Bad News: 7 to 9 more days of playing laggy,hacky,campy,Black Ops.

Good News again: 35 days till Black Ops is coffee coaster.

Looks good, but im still getting MW3. To me its not a matter of BF3 vs MW3, they are different games, and fit different moods. When I am in the mood for a hardcore shooter that requires skill I will play BF3, when im in a relaxed mood and just want to mess around and have fun with friends, I will play MW3.

The same day the uncharted 3 official multiplayer starts,i'm more interested in uncharted so its likely i wont be playing this.

medal of honor was a great game, you just had to wait a week or two for the online to get better. thats about the same time that people who plays COD leaves and online community gets better. the first week had a bunch of snipers at every map. after that games started getting better.

I'm still not fully convinced on BF3, but I can't wait to download the beta and check it out for myself. I'm looking forward to it.

Will it be available for anyone to go on the PSN store and download the beta once it becomes available?

For those that pre-order from Origin, the beta will start on the 26th for those. I was in the Alpha so the beta won't see too much different I'm guessing, except for more people having access to it.

Also got my Diablo 3 beta invite today :)

is that all!?
12 months wait for a 2 day early access, and only 13 days to play it?
and only 1 map and 1 game mode?
wow, this has to be the biggest let down ever!
why so short?
why only 1 map?
why only 1 mode?
why no co-op?
GOW3, U3,U2, KZ3, almost every beta ive been in has offered WAY more then this and they all have been for longer then 11 days and have all been way before 1 month before release!
WTFs the point of running a beta for only 11 days?
come on DICE you have been promising us early access to BF3 for over a year now, we finally get it and its only for 10 days!?

The BFBC2 beta also had only one mode and one map. But I have to say the maps are huge in BF. It took me awhile of playing BFBC2's beta to realize I was on one single map. And it's a beta test! You're supposed to find bugs. The game comes out in a short while anyways.
