Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth Novel, Comic Book Revealed

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is coming on November 1. But that might not be enough for die-hard fans.

As revealed at the PlayStation Blog, Drake and friends will earn new adventures in both the comic and novel realms.

Christopher Golden's "Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth" will be on store shelves on October 4 and to read a brief excerpt of the book, click the link above. Golden added- "I had a blast writing UNCHARTED: The Fourth Labyrinth. Mystery, suspense, mythology, pulp action, sinister plots, beautiful women, and treasure — when it comes to the world of Nathan Drake, what’s not to love?" Our sentiments exactly.

Up next is the "Uncharted: The Fourth Labyrinth" comic, created by DC Comics and set to be distributed on November 30. It's a six-issue series generated by Joshua Williamson, Sergio Sandoval, and Tony Harris. Said DC's senior vice-president of Hank Kanalz:

"We’re creating a hi-octane, adventure comic that adds to the official canon of the Uncharted franchise. The book will be entertaining for both fans of the game, and new fans who read the comic and then want to play the game."

The comic takes place before Uncharted 3 and Uncharted 2, and finds Nathan Drake searching for the Amber Room, which was hidden by the great explorer, Sir Richard Byrd. The legend is that Byrd hid it in the fabled Agartha (a fabled city said to exist in the earth's core). Sounds like an interesting read, right?

I have a stack of novels to read as it is, but you can be sure that this one will be added to it!

Hmmm... doubt it will supplant The Dresden Files as my favorite modern fiction, but it will be a definite read for me!

That's an amazing idea! Haha!

I'd even be happy with Nolan North.

Ah I'm familiar with the Amber room, I was considering writing a story about it myself.

Uncharted just keeps getting bigger, it's too bad it will probably fall flat as a movie.

I'm also looking forward to the behind the scenes book that Nolan North is writing about Uncharted.

Somewhat interested in the novel. What else has Golden written that I may have heard of? Lemme check... Nothing that I've heard of, though some of it sounds interesting. On the other hand, I was burned by the Assassin's Creed: Renaissance novel.

Hmm... The excerpt from the PSBlog is from the back cover, not the book itself. That doesn't help, I'd like to get a feel for the style :/

Lawless,
I'm not sure about this one, but you might try check the book's page out on Amazon, cause sometimes they do add an excerpt or two from their books to try hooking people into it.

oh lord.
movie, comics and now books?
$ony sure love milking the hell out of this!
cant one series stay pure?
tis why nothing can be popular these days, as soon as it does it gets whored out left right and center and the quality quickly sinks past the depths of hell!

Could I have examples of where this has happened in gaming before now please? And how is this making the series somehow unpure when it isn't even released yet? Plus, why the hell do you care when you already don't like Uncharted? Too many hypocrisies and questions, so little patience.

Nice, another book to download on my EVO Kindle! The best app ever made! I am flying through books ever since I started reading Kindle books on my phone. Currently going through Timothy Zahn Star Wars Choices of One. Next will be this Uncharted novel. Thanks Kindle!

The back cover summary to Labyrinth sounds rather interesting, but I really want a sample page to see if this Golden guy has the style down. Only then (or until I see a bunch of positive reviews) will I commit to a purchase.

As for the comics, I'm interested in them as well. Since they're before U2 but not U1, they may explain how Elena broke up with Drake between those two games, and what happened to his promise to her (things I've always wondered about). I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that, but if that isn't elaborated on that'll still be okay, since they sound interesting regardless.
